What Guests Are Saying
Prairie Creek offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, with clean facilities and a lovely location by Beaver Lake, perfect for outdoor activities like boating and hiking. Many visitors appreciated the spacious sites, helpful staff, and the amenities available, including a marina and restaurant. However, some campers noted issues with poorly marked trails, uneven sites, and maintenance concerns, particularly with exposed hazards and cleanliness. Overall, it remains a favored destination for many.

We had 2 sites (017 and 018) at Prairie Creek (Beaver Lake) in Arkansas. We had electrical problems at both sites... measured only 98 to 104 volts on each leg (30 amp plug) at the power post at our friends site and only had 105 volts on each leg at our post. The post actually started smoking. The camp host did nothing to help. We had to call Recreation.gov to get any help. We had to move to a completely different area that was difficult to get our vehicles/travel trailers through. We originaly arrived around 6 PM and FINALLY settled in around 930 PM. The camp host knew that there was problems in the 1st site loop so why were those sites even available to reserve.

Lots of trash around including used cigarettes and vapes. Loud neighboring campers (late hours too) and lots of people walking through our campsite (right next to our camper). Bathrooms had peeling toilet seats. Heard lots of foul language while walking around with my kiddos.

The site was very clean and we were able to quickly set up decorations, table decorations, and banners. So very much appreciated the work that went into setting up the area for our use. Having electricity and water available was really great. It was a very warm day and we used fans and it was a very pleasant experience in every way.

Showers were ridiculously hot. Who wants a scalding hot shower when it's 100 degrees outside? Bathrooms were kept clean. The lady that worked the entrance booth was incredibly nice. The amount of trash left by the weekend crowds at the swim beach was mind boggling, but the crew there did a great job of cleaning it up. The park rangers were very friendly and kept the craziness under control. The camp host, well he's another story. The guy is a complete ass...e. He was the only bad experience we had on a otherwise very enjoyable week.

We always have such an amazing time here. It’s beautiful, clean and just very pleasant. The people are kind. Facilities are great! We do wish there was cold showers in the summer!
