All of the lake side spots were closed due to heavy rain storms in the previous weeks. Recreation.gov did send out a notice of closure up to the 21st of May. We did reschedule prior to our arrival. The site description left a lot to be desired as when we arrived the camp host asked if we were sure of our selection. The host drove up to our chosen site rather than take our trailer to view our site. There was no way that we could use that site. The host placed us in a more accommodating location for the evening. We were able to contact Recreation.gov and reschedule our stay for the duration of our visit.

Beautiful park and campground but had to back trailer into a spot that was very hard to get into, and I had heard from other people they had some problems as well. Not all sites were like this but be aware. Also bathrooms were bare minimum outhouses and first couple nights were not cleaned and virtually unusable and I’m used to some pretty rough sh*t! The web site was hard to get info online, for instance the showers are far away and you have to drive to them. Then they don’t have sinks or even a stainless steel mirror to shave in. It is very pretty area though and close to Hobbs Park for hiking. Forget fishing unless you have a boat as it’s hard to find a spot you can fish from and if you do it’s by the marina where it’s so busy with boats coming and going. Probably will camp elsewhere next time.
