What Guests Are Saying
Starkey Campground offers a peaceful environment, ideal for families and those looking to kayak on Beaver Lake. While some sites are challenging to access and amenities like restrooms need upgrades, many guests appreciate the beautiful views, spacious sites, and proximity to the lake. Overall, it has potential as a quiet retreat, but improvements in maintenance and services are recommended.

Very quiet. I came to go kayaking in Beaver Lake. I stayed at one of the 7 sites near the entrance of the campground which were on level ground. Most of the other 25 campsites were off a very steep roadway. Some were rather small and seemed like they would be hard to maneuver a camper in to. They would be better for tent camping IMHO.

The water smelled like sewage, not sulfur, but sewage. I enjoyed everything else about the park.

Great quiet campground with pretty easy access to the lake! It is all on a pretty steep hill and lots of trees so if you have a large camper or are new to backing up, I would use caution. The bathrooms are also just pit toilets which were fairly clean but they do tend to stink pretty bad.

There are no water hookup at any of the lower sites, only at 1-7. There is only 1 shower house and it is very run down and in need of an update. There are only vault toilets no flushing toilets. There was never an attendant or any kind of camp host the entire time we stayed. The 1 and only dumpster onsite was at the entrance where the dump station was.
Because of the steep nature of the area come prepared to use a lot of leveling equipment. I recommend staying in 1-7
