What Guests Are Saying

Starkey Campground offers a peaceful environment, ideal for families and those looking to kayak on Beaver Lake. While some sites are challenging to access and amenities like restrooms need upgrades, many guests appreciate the beautiful views, spacious sites, and proximity to the lake. Overall, it has potential as a quiet retreat, but improvements in maintenance and services are recommended.

There's no host on site to ask any questions. There's also no signs once you get past the one that shows you there's camping, so chances of getting turned around are pretty great. I had spot 19, which is on a hill, and the hardest spot I've ever had to get into. The amount of trees around the spot are beautiful however make it extremely hard to back in a big trailer(36ft 5th wheel). The roads are narrow, and the spot I chose was not level and very slim. There are other spots that look like they've been updated, so those may be better and easier to get in and out of. The outhouse they have near us is not a flush toilet, and there's a ton of bugs everywhere including spider webs in the toilet, you can tell no one's been in there for a while to maintain it. There's no way to check in. However, there was a ranger that came by during the evening to check in everyone. The current spot I have is 30 amps and no water hookup. The view is beautiful and you're right near the lake so that's nice. The lake is gorgeous, and there's a small rocky Beach to hang out on. They also have a swing set up the hill a little bit for the kids to play on. The dump station is set up on the opposite side of your camper, so you'll either have to come in the opposite way or pull your hose underneath. Also, the roads leading up to the campground are very curvy with a lot of low hanging trees so prepared for that. This place looks like it has a lot of potential but needs someone here to love on it and take care of it.

Beautiful campground, some sites are a little challenging to get into. The grounds and bathhouse were well maintained. No flushing toilets and not a great swim beach area, though there is easy access to the water. Attendant nice :)

I chose this campground because it was available, but I was very pleased with the quiet location, excellent camp host and beautiful lake views. The marina was close by and I will be back again.

Policies & Rules

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
