The park host at this one was on point, called to let me know that morning even before my check in time that my site was open and ready for my arrival, was helpful with navigation, and very friendly/talkative overall. The park itself was beautiful with my site having one of the best views of the lake. The bathhouse could use some attention though as it had a sink that is out of order, but I noticed they were in the process of upgrading a few culverts to help with drainage in the park, so they are improving it further. The only thing that could get old for some people would be the logging truck traffic is constant on the road that goes right by the park, supplying the paper mill industry nearby the town of Ashdown. The lake does live up to its reputation with having gators on it, just be aware of your surroundings don’t mess with them and this won’t be a problem though. Park was not crowded at all and the sunsets are gorgeous, seems this is the park to be at for this lake if you want sunsets. Dump station is across the main road from the park, but it’s a very wide loop that can accommodate larger RVs and keeps the smells out of the park. Certain sites are big enough for large RVs, but make sure to pay attention to that, also the exit road out of the park is kinda narrow so going slow will be of your best interest. Overall this park is a fantastic.

We had a very good spot overlooking the lake. Our camp hosts were extremely helpful and even stopped by our site later on to make sure we had everything and were satisfied with our site.

Great small Army Corps of Engineers park. The hosts Jeff and Sherri are great host and a huge asset to this park.
We had site 006 which is right on the waters edge and it was beautiful. Nice quiet family friendly campground. And we even got to see a alligator swim by as we were sitting on our patio.
Dump station is across the street from the park but large and easy to get in and out of. One of the best I have seen.
We have been to many campgrounds and this is at the top of the list.

This is a beautiful park with great views. I love their showers! We typically do not shower in our camper. These showers are 10x better than the state park. Plug-ins in the bathroom to blow dry your hair. The park and bathroom were very clean. Great little get away!
