Absolutely stunning views. Easy hike around the rim of the mountain. Be very carful, there are very dangerous cliffs on the edge of the trail. The campsite is excellent. The lodge to check in is fully equipped with items you may have forgotten. We purchased campfire wood there and they delivered it. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Absolutely incredible, it’s a tough drive, which is good because it’s not theme park crowded like other parks.

Started my weeklong trip to Arkansas at this campground. It definitely did not disappoint! I will tell you the road up is not paved and at some places uneven - might be a little nerve-racking for those not used to driving on unpaved roads, the first part of the road is gravel, but about 9 to 10 miles is pretty rough road. I was driving a mini Cooper and was able to make it up the mountain, but it took me about 50 minutes from Locke going about 10 miles an hour - I would recommend if you have a smaller car that is closer to the ground taking it nice and slow, but adding an additional travel time up and down the mountain. Once I got up there, I caught an amazing sunset from the overlook, which is just a few feet from the actual campgrounds. The other great thing about this place is they’ve got some really cute lodges for rent. But my absolute highlight were the camp hosts! They were so friendly and even deliver ice and campfire wood directly to your site. Best of all they make some delicious pizzas and deliver it to your campsite. I can say with certainty that I have never had a pizza delivered at any state or national park anywhere in the US. The general store has literally everything you need, with the exception of an actual tent. But if you are thinking of stopping at Walmart before you head up, literally you can get almost anything that you would need at the general store. Overall, a great campground, but what makes it really special, are the camp hosts! It is listed on the website, but just in case, there are no shower facilities here and only camp toilets. Both toilets were very clean and not smelly. Also several water pumps for washing up conveniently located across from the campsite. The campsites themselves are a good size so you can spread out a little bit and the fire pit and picnic table are all well-maintained. I was originally going to drive around the area and see some other waterfalls and what not but because of the unpaved road, I didn’t want to waste time going up and down the mountain. I decided to do some of the hiking trails that start from the campground. The Rim trail is definitely worth it, nice and easy, and you get amazing views all around the top of the mountain and into the national forest. I will say that there was quite a bit of poison ivy so remember to wear long pants.

This area was amazing. We had so much fun up here. The scenery was beautiful. The outlooks were spectacular. We will definitely make it back here again someday. If you love camping and/or the outdoors you need to go. They have pizza that you can order too. (Which is always a plus)
