Horse Heaven Group

The outhouse could use some updating but otherwise the campsite is wonderful.

The campground is great. Lot of areas to hike and explore. Beautiful trees. We had a great time.
As a positive criticism, I'll say bathrooms have to be remodel. The campgrounds nearby have beautiful bathrooms. This camp doesn't.
Also, there should be an overflow parking area. The campsites can accommodate up to 100 people but not enough parking.

Upon arrival at Butter Cup we found it somewhat littered and a damaged table bench.

Great amount of space for a large group. I would say the amount allowed is the max that would fit whereas some places often list a small amount allowed where more can fit. The bathrooms were pretty clean and there were 2 sets of 2 equalling 4 toilets. Two water spouts and plenty of isolation.

Excellent annual experience as usual.

The site was beautiful and within short distance to other beautiful hiking sites. We were a group of friends and had an amazing time having the site just to ourselves. The drive was about just a little over an hour from downtown San Diego. Very grateful for the experience!!

Camp site is very nice and big. Has a nice parking lot to fit plenty of cars. Bathrooms very close to the campsite. Only down side I did not particularly like was that the fire ring is very far away from the campsite site itself which was very irritating to have to walk all our wood to the area and be so far away from our camping group just to have a camp fire… not ideal at all.

Great space, perfect for a group to enjoy the outdoors.

Buttercup at Horse Haven is a fantastic spot for large groups. I loved the layout—the social area and fire pit are set apart from the lower tent area, which creates a perfect separation of space. There is plenty of parking, the site feels incredibly private, and my T-Mobile reception was great throughout our stay. Highly recommend; we can't wait to return!

The only downside to this campground is the toilets. By the ed of the season they are in bad shape.
