What Guests Are Saying

Cedar Bluff offers a beautiful, clean camping experience with friendly and helpful hosts, making it a favorite for many visitors. The lake is enjoyed for its fantastic water quality, and the campground has a lovely atmosphere. However, issues with restroom cleanliness, noise from neighboring sites, and the lack of bear-proof food storage have been noted by some campers, suggesting room for improvement in amenities and management.

It’s a beautiful, clean spot, and the lake water is fantastic this time of year. The caretakers are super friendly and help ensure you have a great time! If you’re coming to camp and expect total quiet by 10 PM, you’re better off not coming; there are people who only managed to book a single night and want to enjoy chatting with their families around the campfire and having as much fun as possible.

Love the location. Camp hosts were the worst I have experienced in my 35 years of visiting Bass Lake. Bathrooms were unclean and hosts took no action towards rowdy camp sites on Friday and Saturday night playing music and running generators well after midnight.

It’s a beautiful area with plenty of things to do. We visited over the 4th of July weekend and really enjoyed our time. The only issue was that the restrooms needed more frequent cleaning.

Nosy neighbors ruined our hole trip. But otherwise had a okay time nice and clean bathrooms smelled like Clorox 👍

Bass lake is an amazing place! Really enjoyed the stay but the campground amenities could use some improvements:
1. The registration process is really weird - I've never seen this anywhere else. You have to drive 15 minutes away from your campsite and have to make it there before 5 pm to register - even though you have all the online registration papers at hand - or "you will be charged the full amount". I have paid for the campsite and my name is on the paper attached to the campsite number - why complicating this so much?
2. Restroom capacity is insufficient and with issues - out of 4 stalls - 1 had broken lock - you can't keep the door locked - and the other had faucet broken you can't wash your hands afterwards.

this campground doesn’t provide bear proof food storage lockers and bears were sighted in the campground both nights I stayed here. the bathroom in the loop I stayed in only had 3 working toilets and 2 working sinks. at least one of the doors didn’t lock

I noticed that many of the other loops have bear boxes. This camping loop, however, does not. Additionally, the trash dumpsters are unable to be secured to protect from the bears. This is causing increasing bear activity in the area. We had bear visits every night. There are barely enough bathrooms for the two neighboring loops and they need to be cleaned more often.

Bathrooms were a big problem this year. Out of 4 cabins only 2 were open and from those only one had water. Toilet paper disappeared very quickly without getting replenished. It was an adventure to use the restrooms.
