Our campsite was surrounded by poison oak Right by the edge of the only spots to place tents. Scary stuff. We alerted the guide in charge. He had no idea it was poison oak. Another scary thing.

The forks campground is located just across the road from a nice swimming cove adjacent from the Forks General store/Restaurant, and Marina. Our campsite (#9) wasn’t good for the camper we had but, we made it work. It also had ZERO shade from sunup to sundown.
The camp host (Tonya I think) was just fantastic! Came and introduced herself after we got situated, let us know about firewood bundles available for purchase, and offered info about the area. The bathrooms were cleaned often, she also shut down a disrespectful group partying hard with a firm mater-of-fact way that let everybody know you don’t talk back.
All-in-all, our family of 4 had a good time. We’ll just have to pack some shade next time!

Overall good experience. Bathrooms were not kept up as well as previous visits though. The lake was a great way to beat the heat.

The camp site was dusty, and like other people mentioned, not a lot of shade. We went into town and bought a pop up tent. The camp host wasn’t around and didn’t make anyone follow the quiet time hours. We are a family with young kids and of course we don’t want to ruin anyone’s fun, however at midnight people should have been told to quiet down a bit. Lots of restrooms that were clean and adequately stocked with TP, however no hand soap so bring your own. The site is right across from the water and at a good location, lots of bathrooms all across the camp so no worry about a line or having to walk far to go. Town is about 10min from the camp, so grocery stores and big 5 for all your forgotten needs. I would probably stay again but I would bring about 3 pop up shade tents with us to hide from the sun. Yosemite is not far away, it says 45min but only because of the twisty roads, definitely a good place to stay to get the fun of the lake and the fun of Yosemite. My only complaint was the loud neighbors (multiple people) and that we didn’t bring enough shade with us. Can’t really help the dirt as that’s just nature. We even extended a day when we found out our site was empty the next day. Oh, and the campsite was clean when we pulled in, no trash and fun logs around the fire pit for the kids to sit on. Trash did pile up 2 days we stayed, was a bit nervous because of all the bear signs (the dumpster was overflowing and people were stacking up trash outside the dumpster), but no bear incidents so it’s a win.

No shade, bathroom was not stocked or cleaned for a day, camp host did not regulate the noise level. My neighbor played loud music and started his vehicle on and off and was whistling until 5 AM. People come up for the day use area and left trash everywhere, the campground trash cans were over flowing and never dumped. I would never camp here again.

The Campground and restrooms were very clean and well maintained. Very close to the lake and The Forks resort for anything you need. Would definitely recommend this campground.
