What Guests Are Saying

Recreation Point is an excellent location for family gatherings, offering close access to the water, shaded areas, and well-maintained facilities, including clean restrooms. Guests appreciated the helpfulness of staff, particularly Larry, who ensured a pleasant experience. However, some felt the reservation and parking fees were high, especially given the condition of picnic tables and the overgrown ballfield.

Hello,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my disappointment with the Labor Day camping experience, specifically regarding the lack of security and control at the site. The situation at both the Knoll and Lagoon group sites was extremely concerning, as attendees were out of control for most of the weekend. On Friday night, as well as all day Saturday and Sunday until 2 or 3 in the morning, loud music was played continuously. When I politely asked them to lower the volume, they laughed and told me to leave their site.

Furthermore, there was no phone number or patrol available to address these issues, which left us feeling frustrated and unsupported. This was not the safe and relaxing environment promised in the contract, and the lack of enforcement made our stay uncomfortable and stressful.

Given these circumstances, I am requesting a refund or partial refund due to the failure to deliver what was promised. I believe this is a fair request, as the environment was neither safe nor relaxing, and the situation was not handled as expected.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

This location served its purpose for a large family gathering. Very close to the water for swimming, and open area for setting up horseshoe pits. Sand volleyball court right there. But for the stuff reservation fee ($135) and $10 dollars parking fee per vehicle, I expected the picnic tables to be in better shape and the grill, too. One bench on one of the tables (total of four) was rotted through and broken in two! The "ballfield" was totally overgrown . So not sure where the money is going . I think whoever oversees these spot can do better.

I’m so glad I reserved at recreation point for a family gathering. Everyone had a great time. Lake was high and everyone swam and barbecued. Will definitely reserve here again. Park ranger was so nice and accommodating us with parking lot.

The area was well kept. Larry was kind, compassionate and friendly. He took care of us and the area as it it was his own property and family.

Great picnic site. Shaded by a big beautiful oak tree, parking is adjacent and convenient, and a great view across the lake. Lake shore is a few steps away. Restrooms with flushing toilets nearby and they were clean and spacious. Enjoyable afternoon eating and enjoying the lake for the whole family.

One of the best spots on the lake. But to charge for the picnic area, and then charge $10 for each vehicle is a little steep.
