What Guests Are Saying

Wishon Bass Lake offers a wonderful camping experience with clean amenities, friendly and helpful camp hosts, and easy access to the lake. Many guests appreciated the camp's beautiful location and the enjoyable atmosphere for families. However, some concerns were raised about noise disturbances during quiet hours, inconsiderate campers, and the need for better campsite leveling and bear-proof storage. Overall, the positive aspects of the campground make it a popular choice for many visitors.

One of the worst camps I have experienced. Most sites are on the hillside, not level for table or tent. The loop road was rough, and had a pothole a yard wide and half a foot deep. The road to and out of camp was no picnic either. We were warned that we were in bear country, but there were no bear boxes -- other than our cars. The toilets were pretty good, with running water, flush toilets, and some of the best toilet paper I have experienced. The Bass Lake in general is worth experiencing. It only needed a better camp than WIshon, and I will try to find it.

This was our first time camping here, and unfortunately, we won’t be returning. The positives were that the campsite was conveniently located near the water, and having a restaurant nearby was a nice bonus. However, several factors contributed to our decision not to come back.
The camp host was quite rude and seemed to have an issue with our presence. He unfairly blamed us for playing music that we weren't even responsible for, and his frequent visits to our campsite made us feel like we were doing something wrong. We had kids with us and spent most of our time down by the water, so it was disheartening to feel unwelcome.
Additionally, the roads were tight and narrow, making it difficult to navigate. Parking was a challenge, especially with the stumped markers that made it feel like we were double parking. There was simply no way to park more than two vehicles if you had a trailer. Overall, it wasn’t the experience we hoped for.

This site holds nothing but great memories for us. Just steps away from marina, store and bathrooms. Les the camp host was super easy going and helpful. Was there in August and everything was green.

This was our 2nd time at Wishon and we did not enjoy it like we did the first time! The camp host was very rude and he did not clean the bathrooms correctly! All he would do in there was empty the trash and clean the floor but he DID NOT clean the toilets or sink! Absolutely disgusting considering the amount of people staying there and we were there for 9 days!!! Thankfully I have my own cleaning products that we used everytime we went down to use the restroom. None of them had soap either! The restroom at the beach was cleaner and its only 1 stall. Thats saying ALOT! Quiet time was also not enforced. The group next to us was up drinking, yelling, talking loudly, laughing loudly, playing music until 1-2am multiple days in a row! A group that arrived at the campsite near the restrooms across from us were also very loud with kids screaming/crying for hours past quiet time. We dont expect complete silence but we do expect consideration especially after midnight! It was a very uneventful stay and we will be looking at other campsites around bass lake for our next trip. The location is awesome, very close to the launch dock, millers landing and beach access within walking distance but the camp host and the inconsiderate neighbors ruined it for us!

I recently visited Bass Lake and wanted to share my feedback. The lake itself is lovely, and the water temperature is always perfect for swimming, which is a great draw.
However, I found that most, if not all, of the campsites are not level. They either have a significant slant or a large dip. Our group reserved 17 different campsites, and I personally checked each one, finding similar issues. Spending a week on an uneven surface was hard on our legs, and those of us with trailers found it impossible to level them adequately.
I believe that if the park could address the leveling of these campsites, it would greatly enhance the visitor experience and prevent future negative reviews related to this issue.
Despite this, I would still recommend Bass Lake as a destination.

The weather was hot and the water temperature of the lake was perfect. We had a lot of fun. Our last day we went to Yosemite and spent the day exploring.
