What Guests Are Saying
Wishon Bass Lake offers a lovely campground experience with great weather, private and spacious sites, and excellent access to Miller's Landing for boat rentals and amenities. Many campers appreciate the friendly and helpful camp host, who enhances their stay. However, there are notable concerns regarding the cleanliness and functionality of restrooms, as many experienced issues with portable toilets and locked facilities, which detracted from an otherwise enjoyable visit.

Friendly host, let us move sites when we got there and found it was not level. She also warned us about a young bear that was very active.
Loved the access to Millers Landing and restaurant with laundry and flush toilets. Would stay again!

Based on reviews I selected a site that was supposed to be large and shaded. It was large indeed (site 44), potentially room for a dozen tents - without a single tree on it (many stumps as most trees had been demolished by a pine beetle infestation a couple of years back). In 90+ degree weather for 4 days with only the shade of my pickup truck and a tree near the road, I was less than impressed. Coupled with loud campers who clearly have no respect for campground rules (late night loud music and carrying on, and 5 a.m. fisherman on loud power boats), I found sleeping for more than a couple of hours to be difficult. Bathrooms were defunct due to a 'water pressure issue' which I discovered is a leak in the plumbing - somewhere - which apparently has been an ongoing persistent problem for quite some time. The portable toilets were generally clean, if in well-worn condition. The lake was nice to swim in, provided you don't get bashed against anything hard when 2' boat wakes come rolling in (frequently during the day) - swimming areas are safer, but not immune from the non-stop ski boat traffic. Fishing was dismal. In four days I caught one fish. No early fishing is remotely possible once the ski boats hit the water at 8 a.m. Smaller paddle boards, canoes and even open fishing boats will be tossed around. Overall, this campground was a complete and disappointing waste of time for me. I would not recommend it during summer season and I won't be returning for any overnight stays. On a bright note, the camp host was delightful. She made my stay more tolerable by stopping by a couple of times to check in, and without her kindness I would have left on the second day. Overall, 3 nights for $180 was a ripoff, to camp on a moonscape with nearby party-goers creating an environment impossible to relax in. Miller's Landing was great. Very nice people there, with a decent cafe and basic necessities available. Otherwise - Wishon is a hard pass for me.

Excellent spot!! Private, quiet spaces with plenty of space between campers.
We left early bc of a heat wave with temps over 100 degrees unfortunately.
Steep-ish terrain, so not the best for kids who want to ride bikes.
Will definitely try this spot again, just not in August during a heat wave.

Great weather. The campground was surprisingly empty during the week. Love the proximity to Miller’s Landing for boat rentals, showers, and ice. The portable toilets were nasty. We did see a bear, but not close to us.

#32 was a great spot we've used before. Connie the camp host was very friendly and helpful. Warned us about local bears and we used the bear box for everything. She opened the flush toilets during the weekend as the portopotties were in a rough state. That was a huge benefit for the girls on the trip. Thanks again!

My partner and I went camping on a Saturday night at Bass Lake and ended paying $52 for two nights due to the 2 nigh minimum policy during the Summer. We were OK with this because we really wanted to go camping and couldn’t find any other camp site nearby. Upon arriving to our campsite, we were very pleased with the amazing view from our site #44 to the lake. Although there wasn’t very much shade during peak hours, we came prepared with a canopy, which I highly recommend since this was a very large campsite. The canopy provided privacy from our neighbors, who were very close by. The other sites seem to be kind of tight and inclined on a hill. The Camp host was very kind and attentive to our needs. Access to the lake, rentals and convenience store is nearby and accessible.

Camping experience was great . I recommend you to bring bear spray because bears are in the area. We saw them two times. But other than that it was great .

Access to the park requires a 15 mi drive over a dangerous winding road. Inside the park is a car killer massive pothole that goes forever unfixed. There are less than a half dozen campsites with a flat surface for tents.
Otherwise a nice environment, with some lake views. PortaPotties have taken the place of wonderful restrooms, but they do work.
