What Guests Are Saying

Plaskett Creek Campground offers a beautiful, peaceful setting just a short walk from Sand Dollar Beach, making it a great spot for camping. Many visitors praised the friendly camp hosts and the spacious, scenic environment, ideal for families and pets. However, the campground faces criticism due to the lack of potable water and restroom facilities, with porta potties being the only option, which some found unsatisfactory.

One of the best sites in my opinion. There is no other site next to you really with the amount of trees surrounding the site making it feel more remote. The tent pad is large and flat and can definitely accommodate an 8 person tent or two 4 person tents side by side (we had a 6 person tent). The short path between the parking spot and the actual site is on an incline. A water spigot and bathroom are very close by just past where you park.

Overall, this is an awesome campsite and one of our favorite places to camp. We were there during the week and had no issues with people not following the rules and the campsite was kept very clean. The sinks the bathrooms are not operational and once during our stay the bathrooms ran out of toilet paper but it was quickly restocked later that day.

Be advised we did see multiple raccoons active in the campsite once it got dark. Also skunks but it could also be because site 33 is at the edge.

The drive-through the campground is pretty tight, so if you have a large RV, you can pretty much forget about this campground. Otherwise it’s a beautiful place. The campground hosts were delightful, friendly, and courteous. The campground Road is full of potholes, though, which could use some attention from the state of California.

Nice campground, but watch out for the boulders! There are large boulders along all the roadways and campsites, making it difficult to navigate and difficult to pull into your campsite! The forest service has made this unnecessarily difficult for larger RVs. Everything else was good about the campground, though it was very busy on a summer weekend.

We were in site 006, clearly the BEST site in the whole park. The camp hosts, William and Lisa, were 2 sites up from us. I have NEVER been witness to better camp hosts at any park I've ever been to...ever! They were very personable, helpful, friendly, etc. The place was CLEAN. William was constantly buzzing around in his cart dumping trash and tidying up. Because there are parking spaces for extra vehicles, random peeps would come in and try to park because Sand Dollar Beach is right down the street and it gets full on the weekends. William was patrolling to make sure people who didn't pay to be there would move and hit the road. He had to deal with some real turkeys, but he got the job done. This place is very gorgeous. I will say that the large ROCKS that have strategically placed so people don't park on the grass are a little tough to navigate so you'd better be good at backing in and avoiding damage to your vehicles. Our site was actually level from side to side, which was a shocker. We are 45 ft in length total, truck and trailer and we squeaked into our site 006 just fine.
