What Guests Are Saying

Plaskett Creek Campground offers a beautiful, peaceful setting just a short walk from Sand Dollar Beach, making it a great spot for camping. Many visitors praised the friendly camp hosts and the spacious, scenic environment, ideal for families and pets. However, the campground faces criticism due to the lack of potable water and restroom facilities, with porta potties being the only option, which some found unsatisfactory.

Fantastic place, and I agree that if you can do not book site 8, the generator runs all night, and it is a big generator for the school across the creek. Adri was super helpful. She was frankly accosted two times by angry rude people, and would receive a medal for staying calm and handling the situation. In one case I witnessed her being followed closely by a suburban who was honking at her while she was on her cart. He and his wife began to berate her for not having an open site, and called her a Bi--ch. On another occasion, she was threatened with bodily harm by a biker and his wife because they didn't get a first come-first serve site. Revved his motor and said they will be back for her. This was not her fault obviously, but is the fault of the Forest Service rules that FF sites can only be given out after 2pm. The result is that people are put in a position to try and race to arrive at exactly 2pm, causing stress. The state parks have a like policy but they take names and license plates from 9am to 1:45pm. You drive up and put your name on a list, you have spot on the list, and then at 2pm they do roll-call. If you are there when the roll call is done, you get on a short list and sites are given out until they are gone. This is a much cleaner way to handle open sites. Stop wondering why people don't want service industry jobs! Because of all the jerks. Come on people, be kind!

Nice campsite, but very busy and packed all the time. Good for families but not if you are looking for quiet and relaxing. Group sites have no shade whatsoever and are on weird slanted areas of land that made it difficult for tents and tables to be set up. The biggest disappointment was the camp host. They were extremely rude, said they would stop by our site to assist, never showed up, then just left without notice. Spoke with a host of another campground nearby, she stated that the parks department had been experiencing a lot of staffing issues. Hopefully, there is a new camp host soon.

Beautiful campground. And they had flush toilets which was very nice. It was right across from the ocean and one of the prettiest beaches I have been to. The drive up was nice as well.

Sites are far smaller than indicated and very steep - the RV sizes they are supposed to fit need to be reevaluated.

We had camp site number 6. It is nicely arranged, a green lawn, benches with a table, a place for a campfire and a barbecue. The only thing is that the surface for setting up the tent is a little uneven.

Nice campground. Roads need some work. Camp Host could not have been more helpful and accomodating.
