What Guests Are Saying

Plaskett Creek Campground offers a beautiful, peaceful setting just a short walk from Sand Dollar Beach, making it a great spot for camping. Many visitors praised the friendly camp hosts and the spacious, scenic environment, ideal for families and pets. However, the campground faces criticism due to the lack of potable water and restroom facilities, with porta potties being the only option, which some found unsatisfactory.

Porta pots and non potable water is the current situation at your campground. That is tough when hoping to stay in your beautiful location for more than 2-3 days. If it is for financial reasons the bathroom facilities are not up and running, then hope funds can became available again soon.
Location is stunning and campground layout is great, it truly is a gem. Just hope the amenities can get back to a better maintained state.

No potable water or flush toilets as was expected based on online information. No prior notice that facilities were unavailable. Firewood is very expensive - $15 per bundle. Based on PMC Parks information, firewood should have been $10/bundle: "Firewood:
All of our campgrounds which have hosts on site sell firewood. They sell for $10 per bundle. You are also welcome to bring your own, but please do try to buy where you will burn." The location is nice, that's about it.

The location itself is along Highway 1 which is of course very unique. You can hear the ocean in the background. Other than that this was not a good experience; we camped at 8 different campsites on our road trip and this was by far the most expensive and the only one that was a poor experience. We arrived after hours (about 9 pm) which we were told would be fine. Took us 20 minutes to try to find our spot. We had to enlist the help of other campers and still never found our spot. Our reservation said "GS3" which we eventually discovered was Group Spot 3 but Group Spot 3 is not labeled. There are not any signs as you drive along guiding you through the number system. The bulletin board up front guided us to the group spots but the group spots were unlabeled and did not have accessible bathrooms (bathroom was locked). We had a significantly long walk down to the bathrooms the other campers had but paid the same price as they did. Those toilets were port-pottys set outside the original restrooms and some of those were locked. When we found our spot there was no once else camping there and the spot sloped significantly. Be aware the water spigots are non-potable water so you cannot use them for your hands or even rinsing dishes. In the morning tried to find the camp host help to move to the spot we were supposed to be in but still couldn't find anyone. Went down the road to Sand Dollar beach to use their facilities for our morning routine.
