What Guests Are Saying
Plaskett Creek Campground offers a beautiful, peaceful setting just a short walk from Sand Dollar Beach, making it a great spot for camping. Many visitors praised the friendly camp hosts and the spacious, scenic environment, ideal for families and pets. However, the campground faces criticism due to the lack of potable water and restroom facilities, with porta potties being the only option, which some found unsatisfactory.

Absolutely loved this campground. It's right across the highway from the ocean side, and from a few campsites in the campground you can actually see and hear the ocean through the trees. Decent size campground that is well kept with potable water and bathrooms (no running sink water). Lots of beautiful trees and some open area. Our campground had a campfire pit and also a separate standing grill you can use charcoal with. Our grounds keepers also provided firewood bundles for $15, and an optional fire starter for $5 that worked really well.
Our grounds keepers were amazing and very attentive, informative, and so helpful. Shout out Michael and Punky, you guys made the trip for us. Very positive energy and availability to the campers. They recommended a couple spots for sight seeing and hiking, including Kirk Creek Trail which we hiked all the way up to the flats which was fantastic. Wish I could have stayed longer!

One of my favorite camping spots in Big Sur! Michael, Punky and Bubba the dog are welcoming are delightful camp hosts that made our visit all the more enjoyable. Their knowledge of the area is incredible. We will definitely be back.

I very much enjoyed my stay. It was my first camping trip as a solo (female) camper. I felt welcomed and looked out for by the camp hosts. The only downside is a lot of large families and many kids running around, so if you're looking for a more tranquil spot, Kirk Creek might be a better choice.

Very well maintained. Close to the beach. The beach is just walking distance.

Absolutely beautiful! The campground was the most quiet campground at night. I have never slept so good. The road getting to the campground is super twisty turny and steep which I didn’t know going into it. But I will definitely go back

Beautiful campground, with mature trees. Any complaints about bathroom cleanliness has more to do with fellow male campers (consistently not lifting seat to pee! ugh!) than cleaning routine by campground staff. Campground was probably more quiet than usual with the road closed north of the campground.
Access to the beach was easy. we were there fairly early in the season, so trail maintenance was underway to clear back a LOT of poison oak. Beautiful beaches. Friendly and helpful camp hosts.
