Plaskett Creek Campground

Love the campground, been there before. But bathrooms were closed and ports potty’s provided were long overdue to be emptied. It was awful, felt like you were going to sit in other people feces because the waste was so high. The whole campground was horrified and we were glad we were glad to leave…. Really really really gross and the worst camping experience.

The campsite is great. It is quiet and everyone keeps to themselves. It is near the coast and there is not much around but it is nice to get away from everything. There is no phone reception so be forewarned. Also, the troopers and or police traveling through the 1 highway are terrible. I got pulled over towing a trailer around the corners following the speed limit signs to take corners at 25mph... cop said I was going to slow. Still have not received the ticket but it is what it is. The site itself is very nice and peaceful

We had an unfortunate situation where we booked a site and arrived at 9.15p to see that our site had been taken by another group. When we asked them, we were told that the host had done this as there was a storm and people had to be moved due to an unsafe tree. While this is understandable, there was no communication from the host about what to do if the actual party holding the reservation were to arrive (even worse, the sign outside the campground said "Campground Full" which it would be given the holidays and beautiful spot). This resulted in a spat with the occupiers of our site and the host was AWOL resulting in just a really bad evening. The next morning she asked us to move to our site (but only after 12 noon checkout as the other party were still to check out and gaslights us with 'you came in late' which is an absurd claim to make for a campground so remote and at any rate was fully paid for in advance and was in no way a 'no show.' Anyways, beautiful campground with plenty to do around but this was a first bad experience for us in close to two decades across America's wonderful public lands. Could've been solved easily if only the host (who seemed to be a little edgy generally) had left a message with the occupiers of our site to direct us to an appropriate site for the night given the situation of safety that had happened prior. I would highly recommend the campground and location. Wonderful beach style access just across the campground and also Limekiln State Park is a cook little spot to explore among the local Redwoods. Sometimes, guano just happens.
