Summary

Plaskett Creek Campground offers a beautiful, peaceful setting just a short walk from Sand Dollar Beach, making it a great spot for camping. Many visitors praised the friendly camp hosts and the spacious, scenic environment, ideal for families and pets. However, the campground faces criticism due to the lack of potable water and restroom facilities, with porta potties being the only option, which some found unsatisfactory.

Great place to camp! Friendly camp host and nice shade on the sites. I recommend hiking limekiln state park waterfall and creek hike, as well as going to sand dollar beach. The beach is a short walk down the street from the campsite.

Hard to believe we were there right before it closed because of the fire. Tbis is a gem of a camp grounds hope it is ok after this fire is gone.

Fix the bathrooms. It has been years with them out of service. YEARS!

Cannot imagine servicing portables is cost effective.

Absolutely non existent maintenance. Big road potholes and tree root damage. Failure to maintain the spring water supply pursuant to the Safe Drinking Water Act. Unusable on site bathrooms, porta potties in use. Website did not display the actual availability of camp sites due to Hwy 1 closures. Very bad online updating of site availability, just the worst website. The NFS has ruined this gem of a campground that I have been coming to for 45 years. Just pathetic management of this campground. Downed trees have roots sticking up in the air leaving behind large dangerous deep holes, attractive nuisances for children. These comments were provided by a retired Dept. of Public Health Registered Environmental Health Specialist.

The campground is always beautiful, the access to the ocean and the quiet is great. I am perplexed as to why the restrooms are not working, and as to why the sinks have never worked. The portapottys are not very nice. They were clean, but still, it would be good to have the regular restrooms operational. Also, the camp water supply was signed as not safe, even for washing dishes. This wasn't clear on the reservation, and made the camping somewhat more difficult. I believe the camp hosts did their best to keep the campground operational, but facilities upgrades and maintenance really would help them keep the campground more inviting. Thank you.

restrooms are out of order and replaced with port-a-potties. The campground has the hardest-working and nicest host I've ever encountered.

Very nice place to camp in the woods just across the highway 1 from Sandollar beach, which is beautiful. The campground is an open layout, being that all the sites are overlooking the other sites. Jesse our Camp Host is very welcoming and informative.

Absolutely Loved Our Stay

We absolutely loved our stay at Plaskett Campground! It was such a beautiful, peaceful place, and we had an amazing time. It was exactly the kind of camping experience we were looking for, and we would definitely come back again.

The only downside for us was the porta potties. We personally aren’t fans of them, but other than that, we really had no complaints. Overall, we had such a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend Plaskett to anyone looking for a great camping getaway! ❤️🏕️
