Over all, this is our favorite campground. It’s quiet, dark, and the host is friendly.
The only thing I have a problem with is, well there are two things. The first is there is always trash around the campsites. Little bits everywhere to cans and bottles in the camp fire. The other is at least one of the camping tables is basically destroyed. Burn holes, grease, flaking paint in chunks, and splintered boards. The last one was unusable as a place to sit and eat. We also had a very large, very green log left in the fireplace making it unusable.
These are minor issues for us, but it’s unsightly and could be a major issue for someone else.

My daughter and I went camping here. This place was so peaceful. When we went there were only about 5 sites in the entire campground taken. It was very quiet and the stars were simply amazing! The host was fantastic (he even offered to help jump my vehicle when my battery was dying), and we want to go back... The bathrooms were clean, the campsites were clean. I hesitate leaving a great review because I don't want anyone else to go there =]

Campsites do not have water access. You can reach the water though game trails. No swimming spot there. Need to drive to day use area for water.
Only garbage was at entrance to campgrounds.
Clean sites and travel trailer friendly.

The campsites are great, the camp hosts are wonderful people. The only problem is the prices are ridiculously high and you expect people to pay to dump sewage. Hat Creek RV Park in California charges less for full hookups per night and the people that dry camp with a trailer can dump for free when they leave the campground.

From Reno, travel north on Highway 395 to Highway 70 and turn west to Portola. From Portola, take County Road 126 north for 7 miles, then County Road 112 to the east side of Lake Davis. Continue approximately 5 miles to the campground, which is on the left.

General
- Generally, campsites will accommodate 2 vehicles. The first vehicle is included in the site fee, the second vehicle fee will be collected onsite at the daily rate posted on the fee sign.
- Some sites are available on a first-come, first serve basis.
- Bears frequent the area; practice safe food storage techniques. Bear resistant lockers are not provided. Click here for more information.
- Frequent strong winds can cause the lake to become very hazardous for small craft.
- Water skiing and jet skiing are not permitted on the lake.
