Site 32 had enough space for two vehicles, maybe 3 if we really squeezed in. Site was in the forest, but we had peeks of the mountains nearby, cozy and woodsy vibes. No close neighbors to the left or right of the site, so we had plenty of space and quiet, & overall the campsite was peaceful even on a friday-sunday trip.
Trumbull lake was a short walk from the site, good fishing, but muddy bottom so not so as good for swimming, Big Virginia lake nearby had a rocky bottom which was more fun for us swimming/wading. Recommend hiking up through the virginia lakes trail to upper frog lake! Scenic! Trip was July 10 and the trail was full of flowers

The campsite had a view of the lake. It was near water and rest rooms. Remaining forest helped to separate one campsite from the next.
We have stayed in this campground before. It is an ideal basecamp for hikes to the lakes above Virginia Lake.

CG Host Travis was great. Unfortunately WestRek and the USF are neglecting this CG. Sites need work due to erosion, bear boxes (yes, there are bears in area) in several sites need repaired after heavy snow years ago. Area is beautiful (beware and be prepared for high altitude 9.8K ft.) Per nite cost is exorbitant when comparing to amenities and condition.

Travel 13.5 miles south of Bridgeport on Highway 395. Turn right at Conway Summit. Travel 5.9 miles on Forest Road 21 to where the asphalt turns to gravel. Turn right at campground entrance.
