We loved staying here. We found it very quiet and peaceful. We found the site was well tended-to, though the host wasn't on site the restroom was serviced several times a day. One single-stall restroom for the whole site might be a bit grim if the site had been full, but when we stayed, it wasn't a problem.

We hiked to Sierra Buttes (walkable straight from your campsite if you don't mind the extra mile!) and did the Bear Lakes Loop near Gold Lake, both excellent. We plan to return - we feel like we picked a real winner with this site!

FYI: Site 5, next to the creek, seems like the best for that lovely waterfall sound if you like it, while also being further from the road (which has decent traffic at all hours headed up the road to the next campground). We stayed in 9, nearby the entrance and restroom, not too close to the road and lots of flat spots for setup.

Good campground in the forest. But no water. Nice bratiful hike at Sardine lake nearby

Quiet campground, some spots were reserved but empty. Mosquitoes were mild at dawn and dusk. No cell service for miles, near by cafe has WiFi and pie.

I haven't camped for many years and this was my first time camping with my kid. The facility was pretty nice overall, with a latrine, picnic table, trash bin, recycling, and even a bear box. My main complaint was that it was SO LOUD, it took me four hours to get to sleep! People were talking, car doors were slamming, loud motorcycles were driving by on the paved road right next to our site, etc., until after midnight. Next time I'll be sure to bring earplugs.
