What Guests Are Saying
Berger is a charming and peaceful campground, well-suited for those seeking tranquility, with a clean environment and proximity to excellent hiking trails like Sierra Buttes and Bear Lakes Loop. While the bathroom facilities are limited and there is no water on site, they are well-maintained, and the campground's quiet atmosphere and beautiful surroundings make it a favorable choice. Overall, visitors appreciate its serene setting, spacious sites, and the natural beauty nearby.

The campsites were clean and nice. The bathrooms were super clean, and the bear boxes are in great condition and big enough to put a standard size cooler in as well as the rest of your snacks and drinks. There are a few spots that are camper friendly, we took a tent this time and had no complaints. Our site (#5) backed up to a creek which was great white noise for sleeping. We will definitely camp there again.

No sign saying we were even at Berger.
Sites were a mess.

Mid-week in late August and we were the only campers at Berger Campground. It was a very quite three days! The bathroom was clean and the facilities tidy.
Woke to a flat tire the first morning and no cell reception, but the folks a Basset's Station were wonderful. We were able to make the call to AAA, have a cup of coffee, and await the arrival of roadside assistance. Took about two hours for them to make the trip from Grass Valley and to put on my spare, but we still had time to climb the Buttes that afternoon!

Campsite number six is very small mostly consisting of dirt roadway. Only one decent spot for a tent
