What Guests Are Saying
Furnace Creek Campground is well-maintained with clean bathroom facilities and spacious sites, making it a great choice for campers. Many visitors appreciated the proximity to major attractions and the helpful staff. However, some noted that the sites can be close together and suggested a need for more electric hookups for comfort during hot weather.

Be prepared - there are no showers at this campground.
Places to see: Ubehebe Crater (less driving if you approach via Beatty NV and Rhyolite; et there by midday!), Mesquite Sand Dunes, everything on highway 190, and DANTE'S VIEW! Worth the drive for sure.

This campground was almost fully booked for the dates I wanted, but there were a couple spots available. I arrived after dark (about 5:30pm in December) and it was very challenging pulling into my back in spot... I'm not very good at it, and I have a small (16') camper, and there are no lights at the campground, which i understand, but it was tough. I put my headlamp on the post with the site number, and used that to back in. The asphalt pad was also small, and I had to unhook and park my truck next to it on the packed gravel. An hour or so later, when I was walking my dog, the campground host came by and said I couldn't park there... that all vehicles had to be on pavement, something about "environmentalists", and he told me I needed to park at the restroom about 200 yards away, or at the visitor center. The next day, I drove up to Texas Spring campground, which is all first come/first served, and about half the price of Furnace Creek, and it was about 20% full, so I decided to move up there. I was very happy with that site. It was much quieter, darker, easier to get in and out of, much more scenic, and had way more restrooms per camper than furnace creek. Next time I'll know.
