What Guests Are Saying
Furnace Creek Campground is well-maintained with clean bathroom facilities and spacious sites, making it a great choice for campers. Many visitors appreciated the proximity to major attractions and the helpful staff. However, some noted that the sites can be close together and suggested a need for more electric hookups for comfort during hot weather.

For the small amount of money we paid, we get a security gate, a completely flat parking space for car camping (sleeping in the car), a full-sized picnic table, a fire pit, clean restroom with running water, trash collection bin.
Compared to other campground, this is very high value.

The site was perfect, quiet, plenty of space. Restrooms were clean, trash dumpsters readily available. Walking around the campground was very nice, well paved walking areas, close to the visitor center which was excellent to see, a must!

The walk-in tent sites are nice and spacious, the bathrooms are clean. (and we really appreciated the dishwashing sinks, thank you!) Be prepared for cold winter temperatures.
The nearby store was convenient and the visitor center is adjacent to the campground, with helpful rangers, a nice exhibit, a gift shop, and free wifi. Also the campground is not far from many attractions including the Badwater area, and the popular Golden and Gower canyons. Etc.

Overall for 1st time at this campground, the experience was great. However compared to other National Parks I have visited unfortunately the restroom did not seem to get routine thorough cleaning.

This campground was almost fully booked for the dates I wanted, but there were a couple spots available. I arrived after dark (about 5:30pm in December) and it was very challenging pulling into my back in spot... I'm not very good at it, and I have a small (16') camper, and there are no lights at the campground, which i understand, but it was tough. I put my headlamp on the post with the site number, and used that to back in. The asphalt pad was also small, and I had to unhook and park my truck next to it on the packed gravel. An hour or so later, when I was walking my dog, the campground host came by and said I couldn't park there... that all vehicles had to be on pavement, something about "environmentalists", and he told me I needed to park at the restroom about 200 yards away, or at the visitor center. The next day, I drove up to Texas Spring campground, which is all first come/first served, and about half the price of Furnace Creek, and it was about 20% full, so I decided to move up there. I was very happy with that site. It was much quieter, darker, easier to get in and out of, much more scenic, and had way more restrooms per camper than furnace creek. Next time I'll know.
