What Guests Are Saying
Furnace Creek Campground is well-maintained with clean bathroom facilities and spacious sites, making it a great choice for campers. Many visitors appreciated the proximity to major attractions and the helpful staff. However, some noted that the sites can be close together and suggested a need for more electric hookups for comfort during hot weather.

I stayed at Atlatl Campgrounds. The view was beautiful in every direction. The staff was super nice and I had the best time.

Camped two nights on the first week of April. Check-in is at the gate. Camp hosts made the rounds to keep the camp clean/ in-order; they keep to themselves. Flush toilets were kept clean, no hand soap (hand sanitizer instead,) and kept lit with electricity.
Large dual kitchen wash trough with three spigots (but have to depress to turn on.)
The ground is solid (very difficult to drive tent stakes.) Look for large rocks at the camp site to use as anchors. It was very windy when we camped. Anticipating this, we used our low profile 4-person tent. Even still, the winds seem to want to lift our tent away. If it not for our weight, our tent could have tumbled away.
Camp sites are among the smallest we have experienced. Neighbors can feel close if that makes you uneasy. The kitchen trough set up was the best wash station experience we had. Overall, we had a great time at this campground despite being disappointed to show up to our site with trash (beer cans and coffee cups) in the fire ring. It was easy enough to clean that up.

I appreciated the big sink basins with drinkable water! The camp host was so lovely, friendly, and helpful :)

The furnace creek campground is a clean and basic campground. We had a full hookup site. Everything worked as it was supposed to. The other campers were friendly. We did not ever interact with or see the campground host. Flushing toilets in the bathrooms are nice.

Other than the excessive winds the campground was well laid out. The restrooms were clean and comfortable. The water troughs were an excellent touch. We enjoyed it immensely. Great place for the main base camp.
