The Retreat at Redwood Shores

We were quite disappointed in our stay. We came in before office closing hours and no one was around. There is no evident host or anyone who can give you information unless you approach one of its residents. Upon picking our space and paying the fee to access the amenities, laundry, bathroom, showers, and Wi-Fi we received a confirmation email then no further information. No access codes were provided, no calls were returned. After being on the road for nearly two weeks we looked forward to utilizing the amenities offered. We left the next morning pulling out around 11 and still no one in the office during office hours, still no returned calls. We could’ve just stayed at the rest stop if we didn’t want to have the luxury of a shower, getting updates with Wi-Fi, and being able to wash some laundry without hunting down a laundromat.

The park itself is actually quite nice — lots of trees, plenty of space, and a peaceful setting. Unfortunately, everything else was a disappointment.

We booked online but received no documents or access codes. The two phone numbers posted for after-hours support were unreachable, leaving us without access to laundry, bathrooms, WiFi, or showers.

Our site had dog poop on it, no picnic table, and the power pedestal was so old it felt unsafe to use.
To make matters worse, even on Monday morning after 10 AM, nobody was in the office and nobody answered the phone. Other campers told us they had the same issues.

Great location, but extremely poor management. Sadly, we cannot recommend this park.

Horrible place full of spider webs, no customer service and it just doesn’t look safe to stay there, don’t walk away run, how can they stay on business with such a terrible service and dirty cabins I wonder, I made reservations 2 weeks ago and they have the audacity to question why do you want to stay in this hell hole! I wonder also maybe because the pictures on the Airbnb are deceptive! I drove 5 hours got to the cabins at 3 check in time, the people where in a hurry to leave, went to look at the cabin we where supposed to stay on to find out it was not made the beds probably for sure have bed bugs, started calling all the numbers no answer, somehow I got a hold of a poor lady who called someone just to be told it was going to be another 1 hour and what did we supposed to do meanwhile? Be homeless 5 hours aways from home? Just don’t waist your time with this place

I stayed here for the first time a couple years ago, great experience in 2023. Unfortunately not the case for my most recent stay this weekend. Ownership amd management had changed. Property upkeep is not good. When we arrived on Friday there was trash in the fire pit, inside floors were not swept or clean and worst part only 1 of the toilets was flushing and when we tried calling the after hour line. There was no response. I then attempted to call in the morning when NOONE showed up for the office or little store on site. I left for a coffee and returned to find the bathroom nearest our cabin is now completely closed and still noone in the office at 11:45am. We ended up with access to the handicap bathroom which was nice but I was just disappointed to see an amazing place going downhill.

What is going on with this place? There's always something going on here. Bathrooms are down and or closed, can't use the laundry, no soap in the bathrooms, and washing sink at T1 is so full my husband cleaned it out for you guys. The one shower in the girls place has water coming out of the wall.. this place is falling apart and they do not care one bit. They are never at the office either. Everything is filthy. The laundry room, bathrooms, the whole time we were there the bathrooms were not cleaned.
Hair all over the walls in the bathroom, paper towels on the ground.. do they not have anyone to clean up the place? Are they that hard on money that they refuse to actually take care of the place? Nope they are pocketing the money and not giving a crap about anything else but themselves. I do recommend staying here at all.you will be severely disappointed. It's a waste of money. Great for the lower end people though... You do a crap job of running this place. I'm surprised it's still open. I'm sure it will close one day.
