We went to Dogwood as our first family camping trip. It was a good experience for us. We stayed at site 77 and it was a beautiful site and close enough to bathrooms.

Dogwood camp ground is beautiful. The camp sites are clean and well maintained. If you want to camp in the forest with access to restrooms and showers available, this is for you. Short drive to town and a local store but you wont feel like it when you are in the camp ground. Great for family camping when you dont want to carry your family and all their needs into the forest.

Beautiful campground with large sites for multiple tents. Our site was equipped with electric for our RV. Very quiet and peaceful, however there were a lot of yellowjackets that would swarm around us whenever we had food out. I was stung on the hand and my dog on his snout. Would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could have brought wasp spray. The campground did have wasp catchers hanging in a few trees but that was not entirely effective. We asked the ranger about the yellowjackets and she said she’s heard they were worse this year because of a shorter winter. All in all, a beautiful retreat and we will be back next year……with wasp spray.

One of the main reasons we camped here was for the convenience of utilizing the showers. Understandably water conservation efforts was placed unexpectedly right before our camp dates. I thank an effort should have been made by management to give a partial refund to customers for this major inconvenience of no water no showers.
