What Guests Are Saying

Patrick Creek Campground is a beautiful location with friendly camp hosts, clean facilities, and easy river access, making it a great spot for families and campers. Many sites offer ample space and shaded areas, and there are nice walking trails nearby. However, some campers reported noise disturbances and a lack of potable water, as well as a high presence of mosquitoes, which may affect the overall experience.

I prefer smaller quieter campgrounds and that, along with the close Smith River access, takes me back every year. The only drawback is the traffic noise.

nice camping area, but traffic noise was annoying. Trails need clearing of overgrowth, picnic area nicer than campground. The day I arrived three days ahead of season closing in mid September the temperature was 93 degrees. There should be a longer season to avoid the summer heat open earlier and stay open later.

Our favorite part of the Redwoods. Jedediah Smith Redwoods is breathtaking. Patrick Creek was the perfect place to stay. Our kids, 7 & 8 became Junior Rangers at the Hiouchi Ranger Station. They gave great tips for places to take our kids, which included climbing on amazing downed logs at Simpson-Reed Grove and a hollowed log forming a tunnel to walk through across the street at the Hatton Trail (not the loop), and Stout Grove for a 3000? year old tree.
Our campground host was amazing, she brought our kids Smokey Bear comics and a coloring book. The only downside was mosquitos, so bring protection!!

The campground was sweet with nice private sites. The beach access for the river was a delight.

Beautiful campground on the Smith River. The bathrooms are flush and very clean. Host was very helpful when we had a small mix up with our spot. There only 13 sites so it doesn't get loud or busy. The day use are next to the campground is a great place to get into the water.

Beautiful campground, clean and well maintained. Only negative feature was too close to a very busy highway, lots of vehicle noise.
