What Guests Are Saying

Arroyo Seco offers a beautiful and well-maintained campground with excellent shade, proximity to the river, and scenic hiking trails, making it a great spot for outdoor enthusiasts. While many guests enjoyed their stay, several faced challenges due to non-functioning bathrooms and showers, as well as an increase in yellow jackets, which affected their camping experience. Despite these issues, the friendly camp hosts and overall serene environment left many visitors with positive memories, encouraging them to return in the future.

This is a surprise campground. The road from Carmel is awful despite what was reported. Drive around. But once at the campground we were pleasantly surprised. Only complaint - apparently there are no rules regarding how many campers and tents per site. It was a zoo. And the many groups were all playing music loudly. The campground either didn’t care OR had lost control. It did get quiet after 10, but sitting around the fire after dinner was less than enjoyable. We suspect this is a regular “party” place as it is pretty close to Greenfield, Ca.

Great location for watching woodpeckers and other birds. A hike up the gorge makes a lovely walk no matter how far you go.

Quiet campground. Flush toilets available, were very clean. Nice hikes to take. Some places along the river in the day use area were available.

The bathrooms and showers were closed and there was no notice ahead of our reservations. I don't think they have any plans on fixing them.

I love Arroyo Seco campground. The bathrooms are well maintained, maps and interpretive signs are in Spanish as well, and the landscape is amazing, of course.

The campground is beautiful. The regular host was off, but there was a relief host and they were wonderful. Showers and flush toilets were closed. There were port-a-potties, and we were lucky that they were cleaned just before we arrived. Site 14 was great, large and shady. Close to the bathrooms and water.
