Arroyo Seco

The atmosphere in the campground was more of a party scene than folks appreciating nature. Amplified music started up late, around 8pm and continued on into the night, left unchecked by the nearby camp host. The folks managing the campground sped by regularly despite small kids on scooters and bikes, driving way too fast for a small campground loop and making it hard to relax and enjoy.

I have camped here for 36 years. It's a family favorite. The convenience of the clean bathrooms and working showers is great. Personally our family likes to hike up river to day camp. Bringing plenty of water and food to last the hike and day by the water. This year it is cleaner than I have seen it in a while. Perhaps because it has been closed for so long. The only negative is we camped right by behind the bathrooms and a few times a day it smelt ripe af. Like your afraid the breath through your mouth like you might taste it. Never had the problem before. We actually skipped dinner because of it.

Loud Parties at the campsite, people constantly walking right through our campsite with zero regard for personal space… Would never stay here again

Arroyo Seco is my favorite place to camp. The river is so pretty, the water temperature is great and the campground structure very funcional. Besides that, the host couple were helpful and super courteous every time we talked to them.

We arrived and no where did we find someone to check us in, the water was NOT next to the campsite like the map said. There was a day use area for an additional cost and you had to drive down the hill to get to. The trash was over flowing in all the trash cans from the weekend people who left the day before. There was a group of campers who partied until 3 in the morning and it was yelling, fighting the whole time no one went to tell them to be quiet when 10pm should be the quiet time we didn’t sleep well. We left the next day when we booked for 3 days it was a horrible. When we left there was still no one at the post for us to tell and request a refund. Its not the best place.

Arroyo Seco is a nice area to spend camping with the family. The campsite was clean when we arrived and had a decent amount of shade from the surrounding trees. The three main drawbacks are 1) other campers and their children going through our campsite to reach the restrooms 2) the river is about 1/2 mile walk and if you take your vehicle there is an extra day use fee of $10 associated, and the final issue was the restrooms required a little more attention to how clean they were from the local staff members. I will be eventually returning so hopefully next time the experience is a little better.

I like camping here, it is a nice place. It can be very hot in late spring and summer.

Saw great reviews. Reserved Group campsite. But unfortunately, there were too many mosquitos at group camp site. Also, it was too hot. I would not recommend group site. Pit toilet at group site was not in good condition and ladies in the group refused to use it. They ended up walking uphill 4 to 5 minutes to first loop every time they wanted to use restrooms.

Stayed at primitive site 38 - had about 8 sites with 4 ppl each sharing one vault toilet bc the other one was locked for some reason, and the potable water spigot didn’t work. Definitely needs some work
