Kern River Sequoia RV Resort at Camp James

Always a great, memorable time camping at Camp James. Family-friendly, quiet, nothing crazy going on. Staff are really nice and responsive. This year they upgraded their wifi to make it faster and unlimited use/devices. This is so much better than the limited devices restriction before and at other resorts. No one likes poor wifi!

The location is stellar - probably one of the best in the area because it's on a reasonable calm stretch of the river, lots of shade for campsites, and features the original "lazy river" winding through the camp, which this year is back to its full flow - so nice they restored this. Plus Kernville stores are just around the corner.

Overall, Camp James continues to be a place we come back to year after year and it's nice to see that they're making upgrades, especially with tech stuff, like online booking. It'd be cool if they could bring back some of the activities, like Bingo or rock painting.

I was a little hesitant about my first time stay after reading some of the reviews left by others but Here is my Honest review.
After booking a spot and finding that It was a smaller spot, I looked, saw that a larger one became available, I called KRS and spoke with Lynette and she was Awesome and made it happen. Checking into our spot was a breeze, We were very close to the river and had a beautiful Creek running behind our camping spot that my kiddos were able to enjoy. Staff was great, we has fast speed internet and electricity. Quiet time was great after a busy day on the river.
I recommend this place if you are looking to have a relaxing and stress free time with the sound of the Creek and river while you sleep.

KRS RV Resort is the perfect camping getaway for families. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. They gave us a full overview of the resort, walked us to our cabin, and made sure the entire property was clean and well maintained.

The cabin itself was adorable and much larger than I expected. It was very clean, air-conditioned, free Wi-Fi, plenty of towels, and every amenity we needed. Our site even had a cute little stream that the kids loved exploring and playing in. In the distance, we could hear goats and roosters, which made the experience feel even more peaceful and connected to nature.

Overall, my family and I had an amazing experience, and we can’t wait to come back.

We absolutely love KRS Camp James! We've been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. The campsites right next to the river are the best part—there's nothing better than relaxing by the water, enjoying the beautiful scenery, and listening to the river flow.

The campground is always well-maintained, peaceful, and family-friendly. The staff has consistently been welcoming and helpful, making every trip enjoyable and stress-free. Over the years, we've created so many great memories here, and it has become one of our favorite places to camp.

We stayed at site 45 which is riverfront. This was the most ideal location with a beautiful view and access to the river. The campground has a lot of rules which seem excessive- but I would imagine they have been put into place because of previous campers creating the need for them. We will definitely reserve a spot at Camp James again in the future. By far the best campground we have ever stayed at.
