Site is tiny and blackberry bushes surround the paved area where a trailer or car is parked. We couldn’t even step out of our trailer comfortably due to the overgrown blackberry bushes. The “patio” area was small and in the sun. We ended up taking a friends spot who didn’t show up. Try site 22, that’s a great site.

This is a favorite amongst our family and friends. The women’s rest rooms tho- the feminine waste container was over flowing And gross- not addressed during garbage pick up times

Toilets down the road are vaulted but the ones by site 31 are flush. No camp host to get firewood from. MAKE SURE YOU LOCK THE BEAR BOX! We didn't lock it properly and ended up feeding a bear plenty of meat. Huge site, flat and has some shade. Has 2 tables, BBQ and fire pit and were all on a cement slab! Driveway fit a pop up tent trailer. Long and twisty 30 minute drive from I5 to campground. Quiet and peaceful. Not a lot of campers. Great place if you don't need to drive into town daily.

First I’ll start with the pros - the campground was very quiet we went camping for 5 days and we were the only ones (kind of scary at times). The bathroom were well kept and clean. The campsites were spaced out and walking distances to the lake. We had 90-100 degree weather so the lake was the place to be.
Cons- when I called the ranger office they said a host would be on site. We never saw any park host or ranger. The campground felt lonely with no one around( not use to it ). There was definitely bear activity every night, and saw 2 rattle snakes. The campsite had a lot of dead leafs which made it had to tell when snakes were hiding. Also ALOT of poison oak everywhere. The bear box’s needs some updating was really hard to lock up food and bears kept coming back every night and car alarms didn’t scare it away. Some campsites didn’t have shade we had to change sites.
Overall, we liked it but we just aren’t use to being completely lonely. Definitely thinking about trying in again but maybe in may or June because it was really hot if you weren’t in the water. It was also nice to see a pack of deers walking around.

Creek exit to Gilman Road). Take Gilman Road east for 11 miles to entrance
of Hirz Bay.

Arrival & departure
- Check-in is at 3 P.M. and check-out is at 2 P.M.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Vehicles & parking
- Single sites allow one vehicle and double sites allow two vehicles, with a $12 fee for extra vehicles.
Site capacity
- The average maximum trailer size allowed is 30 feet.
Wildlife & food storage
- All food must be stored in the provided bear-proof containers.
- Due to active bears in the area, all food must be stored in designated bear lockers.
Safety & rules
- Poison oak is commonly found in the area.
Fees & deposits
- A fee of $17 is charged daily for using the boat ramp.
