We stayed in a yurt at Lakeshore East and would definitely return. Reserve online or by phone. The campground is mostly small tent spots but they had two yurts: site 20 has a twin/full bed bunk and a futon, and site 22 has a queen bed. Fire rings, and flush toilets in good condition. You can overlook the lake a few yards behind the campsite. Be aware that this campsite is across the street from train tracks and the freight train rumbles by several times day and night, and you’ll hear the freeway if you listen. However between trains I thought it was pretty peaceful. There is a small grocery store, laundromat, and local pub nearby.

Camp host is super nice. Our Class A isn't a good fit for this location; pads not level. Saturday night music from a club or party was super loud till 11pm. Lower but still loud till midnight. Park filled with lots of younger adults. Great if you are into boating, otherwise, not much here. Drove 15 miles for dinner.

A quiet, pretty spot right on the "lake". The lake level is way down, so hopefully this will change in the future...
Lots of trees, shade and easily accessed off I-5, but it's quiet.

We stayed overnight on our way to another destination. We stayed in our travel trailer. The site was easily accessible and had enough length that we didn't have to unhitch. There was hardly anyone there which made our stay private. We were there in late July and were blessed with an overnight drop in temps.

This campground is an absolute mess. The whole place looks like it was abandoned a year ago. The road and camping spaces are littered with branches and pine needles. The trees lining the road haven't been trimmed and made contact with the RV. There are piles of branches and debris that need to be hauled out. There were broken beer bottles in the fire pits. Truly sad as this could be a beautiful place.

From Redding, California, remain on I-5 north to the town of Lakehead (Approx. 20 minutes north of Redding). Take the Antlers Road/Lakeshore Drive exit. Go west under I-5 overpass, then left on Lakeshore drive approximately 2.5 miles to the campground entrance.
Lakeshore East is accessible via State Route 44, which is approximately 8 miles to the east. Additionally, Interstate 5 is about 15 miles to the west, providing further access to the campground.

- Public boat launch requires a daily fee of $17.
- Average maximum trailer size is 30 feet
- Bears frequent the area; Keep food in bear-proof containers

- Extra Vehicle fee of $12 per night
- Dogs are not allowed inside the Yurts, but can be outside in a tent/kennel.
- Yurts are weatherproof shelters with furniture inside the unit. The site includes a picnic table and fire ring located outside the unit. There are no sources of heat or electricity located inside the unit. Linens are not provided. You can set up a tent along side of the yurt within your site.
