About Gregory Creek Group Campground

The campground is a single loop and is moderately to thickly wooded with a mix of oak and pine trees that provide plenty of shade during the summer (80% + cover). The understory, which consists of manzanita, blackberries, poison oak, tree fern, wild grape and a variety of native grasses and forbs provide limited privacy between campsites. When the lake level is high, the bank is moderately sloped to provide access to the water. As the lake level drops, it exposes a steep drop off to the water, especially on the side of the campground nearest Gregory Beach. There is a boat ramp nearby at Antlers. Lake activities include fishing, swimming, motorized and non-motorized boating, and watersports. Each site has a picnic table, and a fire ring.

We had a wonderful time here. I'm not entirely sure we were camping in the right spot, but we were very close to the water and the facilities were better than expected. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back again.

We enjoyed the site itself because of its location, but there were a couple of issues. The sinks were awesome at the double site except they did not drain well and were filthy when we arrived. We ran out of toilet paper and soap in both restrooms on the first day. For a site that holds 100 people and we only had 30, the toilet paper should have lasted Throughout the weekend we were there. There was also no soap in the restrooms. The steep and embankment to get down to the beach could use some maintenance as it was difficult for some of the older and younger members of the group. You do hear noise from the boats from the marina across the water and from the highway and from the dispersed CAMPING spot nearby FYI. Loved the shady spots, but disliked all the poison oak. The sites are large and some have water views. There are only 3 large garbage cans on site. Definitely bring giant garbage bags. Despite its shortcomings, we would return.
