Juanita Lake Campground

While there were some problems with there being No water,and having to haul water from the lake to our camp site,the overall experience for 12 days was amazing. Mark the camp host did an excellent job despite problems with the reservation only system that was in place this season. Despite having reservations,we were locked out of the camp ground due to a communication problem between the forest service and the camp host. The problem was remedied in about an hour after having to drive down the mountain to call the forest service office. The camp host did a great job making everyone feel welcome,keeping the sites and restrooms cleaned. Only problem was that the host had no idea who actually had a reservation and who didn't until the 28th of May. Better communication between the forest service and camp host would make it easier on everyone and prevent unnecessary disputes over sites as this reservation only system is not very popular with locals who are used to coming up on a first come,first serve basis. We love walking around the lake,the fishing and taking the grandchildren swimming in the lake,and just walking the paved campground area meeting other campers. Looking forward to our next trip,reservations and campfire permits in hand.
