I love this campground but the road leading to it is treacherous and almost impossible if you meet someone coming the opposite way. Also, the insects are insane. There were wasps and huge horseflies harassing us the entire day. We definitely won't be going back even though it's beautiful.

We love this place and it's our go to. However, this time there was not any forest service workers or even law enforcement that come around. The trash was overflowing and the bathrooms were a serious mess. Very disappointed this time. We usually camp here 3 times a year but our next camping trip will be another campground.

The sites were level and the asphalt was in good condition. The site I was in had shade which was welcome.

We had a group of 10 families. We could not reserve the group site this time as it was unavailable. We reserved 10 or eleven sites and we had a blast. The kids were all happy and rode bicycles, they swam and jumped off the dock not to mention the love fishing. We also played lots of games. We all had an absolutely amazing time. Great place for family reunions or church groups like ours. Lots of bonding and special memories.

From I-5 at Weed, CA travel northeast on State Hwy 97 approximately 35 miles to Ball Mtn Road. Turn west (left) on Ball Mtn Road and go approximately 4 miles to Forest Service Road 46N04. Turn right on 46N04 and continue to Juanita Lake and campground.
From the north, traveling south on Hwy 97, turn west (right) approximately 3.8 miles south of the town of Macdoel on the Ball Mtn. Road. Travel approximately 4 miles to Forest Service Road 46N04. Turn right on 46N04 and continue to Juanita Lake and campground.
Juanita Lake Campground is accessible via I-5 approximately 35 miles to the southwest, and State Hwy 97 which runs nearby. Ball Mtn Road connects to Hwy 97 and leads to the campground.
Elevation: 1566 feet
10 mi drive to downtown Macdoel (about 16 min)

General
- Dogs on leash
- No off-highway vehicle use in the campground
- Fire wood: anything dead and down may be gathered for campfires (no chainsaws)
- There is limited RV parking.
