We tent camped at Silver Lake Campground and had a great stay. Our site had a few trees that provided some welcome shade, along with a concrete picnic table and a bear box for food storage. The scenery throughout the campground was beautiful, with stunning mountain views that made for a very relaxing camping experience.
We have Verizon and had full cell service during our stay. We brought our own drinking water. There are restrooms (flushing toilets and there was toilet paper!) and showers (though we didn't use them) available in the campground.
From what we saw, all of the sites appeared well-suited for tent camping. There were also many travel trailers in the campground, although we can't speak to how easy it is for larger rigs to navigate the roads and campsites. Our site did not have electric, water, or sewer hookups, but it did include an asphalt parking pad for our truck.
There are two camp hosts on-site, which was nice to see. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would happily camp here again, especially for the beautiful setting and convenient location near June Lake.

Site 33 is a great spot for the views of the mountains. There is absolutely no shade in this spot. There's a water spigot at the road at the site. Directly across from the site is Rush Creek and fishing. 10 minute walk to Silverlake Resort and the lake. The campground is spacious...so much room in between spots. Walk right to all of the hiking spots from your campsite.
** when we were there, there was a problem with the plumbing in the bathrooms and showers.

Silver lake campground is beautiful. I have stayed in a lot of campgrounds and this is one of the best. It sits next to a lake and a creek. There is another creek that flows down the mountain just across the street, then about a half mile down the road is horsetail falls that can also be seen from the campground. In the spring it is spectacular. Located in the June lake loop so there are 3 more lakes nearby to visit, all great for fishing, kayaking and lake days. Many scenic hiking trails nearby. Too many must see destinations nearby to list them all. But to list a few, there is Mono lake and the craters, Mammoth mountain is 15 mi away and the Tioga pass entrance to Yosemite is also a short drive.
