Silver Lake Campground June Lake (CA)

Campsite was nice and spacious.

We spent 2 days in site 49, one day was extremely windy. The dirt in the camp site was like powder, blowing every where. There needs to be fresh pea gravel placed there to keep the dirt from blowing. Despite our best efforts, our dogs were filthy. Also, the grass was so tall under the table we couldn't use it. We then moved to site 31 for the rest of the week, which was much better, had gravel to keep the dirt from blowing on windy days and table was usable. As for the lake and stream, there is very limited shore area for the 65 sites to share. Many people left chairs, hammocks, boats, paddle boards, etc. as if it was part of the site they rented, in the few shore areas that are for sharing. This made it impossible for everyone to enjoy the limited spaces. The bathrooms were cleaned on a regular basis, the camp hosts are kind, friendly, and efficient. The shower building roof needs repairs as there are leaks in the ceiling. Many people ride e-bikes or drive vehicles much faster through the camp than the 5 mph posted sign, so if you have small children be careful. As for cell service, Verizon did not work well throughout the camp ground. I heard from others that AT&T worked better. We did meet some nice people while there. The city of June has a new place to eat, The New Zealand Pie Shop, across from the June Pizza place, that is very good for breakfast or lunch.

Great campsite and clean and well kept restrooms. I will come back again!

Great spot!

Lovely setting. Clean bathrooms and showers. Nice views from most of the campsites. Rode the June Lake loop on bicycles in clockwise direction-do not recommend riding the NorthShore Drive section as the road has huge expansion gaps up to a foot wide in some sections which are very dangerous on a road bicycle and even on a MTB. Pretty harsh ride so recommend riding through June Lake Village as road surface better.

Really like that there are showers available at a low cost. Beautiful surroundings and the Silver Lake Resort across the street is great for breakfast. We kayaked the whole lake, it was awesome.

For the third year in a row, I was subjected to campers arriving late on a Friday night and behaving like idiots. They arrived at 9:30, start setting up camp tents by running the headlights and engines on two pickup trucks for hours, until finally the tents were up and air mattresses were inflated, then they started making dinner at 11 pm and continued with music and loud talking until midnight. The noise didn't abate until 1 am…and they couldn't care less about anyone else around them.

Someone stole my extension ladder within the campsite I was upset about it but I could identify the automobile or person I felt violated

Silver Lake is always a good spot. Fishing is typically very good.
Unfortunately, in the summer when the kids are out, The campsite turns into a Indy 500 for the E bikes. They ride in all directions, ignoring arrows, the 5 mile an hour speed limit is out the window. Even the host drives her golf cart 10 to 15 miles an hour.
I’ll be back in September and May.

Nice campground. Lots of fishing in this area, but also LOTS of mosquitoes! Several hiking trails, close to Mono Lake and Bodie.
