It was a mom and daughter trip and the site set for us was uneven very rocky and lots of brush that would hit our tent. We asked the camp host if there were any other sites available and he was kind to allow us to pick from two other sites. We picked a beautiful level grassy site and it made a huge difference in our camping trip.

We tent camped at Silver Lake Campground and had a great stay. Our site had a few trees that provided some welcome shade, along with a concrete picnic table and a bear box for food storage. The scenery throughout the campground was beautiful, with stunning mountain views that made for a very relaxing camping experience.
We have Verizon and had full cell service during our stay. We brought our own drinking water. There are restrooms (flushing toilets and there was toilet paper!) and showers (though we didn't use them) available in the campground.
From what we saw, all of the sites appeared well-suited for tent camping. There were also many travel trailers in the campground, although we can't speak to how easy it is for larger rigs to navigate the roads and campsites. Our site did not have electric, water, or sewer hookups, but it did include an asphalt parking pad for our truck.
There are two camp hosts on-site, which was nice to see. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would happily camp here again, especially for the beautiful setting and convenient location near June Lake.

The campground is accessed via U.S. Highway 395, which is approximately 7 miles from Highway 158, the road leading directly to Silver Lake Campground.

General
- This is a high elevation facility; please use caution when traveling from lower elevations
- Be bear aware; keep all food out of site in approved containers or locked inside your vehicle and remove all food from area after eating; always keep a clean camp and do not feed any wild animals; campground host has bear literature
- Only 2 pets per site allowed.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. For current fire conditions or weather closures contact the Mammoth Lakes Visitor Center, (760) 924-5500, or the Mono Lakes Visitor Center, (760) 647-3044.
- Please Note: One RV with tow per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. In accordance with standard industry practices, Inyo Recreation will assess an additional $10.00 extra vehicle fee per day for the second vehicle in each single family campsite, and on the third and fourth vehicle in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered one vehicle, and the third and fourth motorcycle are also considered one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.
- Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of the second day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests.
- Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect California's forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.
