Our experience at Pinnacles Campground was very disappointing. The biggest issue was the raccoons as soon as the sun went down. Our campsite—and several of our neighbors’ campsites—were completely overrun. There were at least seven raccoons around our campsite alone, even though we didn’t have food left out.
These raccoons were incredibly bold and completely unafraid of people. They climbed right onto our picnic table while we were still sitting there eating, making it impossible to enjoy dinner or relax at our campsite. It felt unsafe and stressful the entire evening.
There was also very little shade at our campsite, making the daytime heat uncomfortable. Ultimately, the raccoon problem was so bad that we packed up and left within 16 hours of arriving and moved to a private campground instead. It was disappointing to cut our trip short, but we no longer felt comfortable staying.
Unless the campground takes serious action to address the aggressive raccoon problem, I would not camp here again. It’s not worth it.

Campground was well maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. Went in July and the weather was hot, but luckily there was some shade at our campsite 4A. Would definitely come again!

No matter how hot, over 100 degrees, there is shade, cool mornigs and evenings for walks, and of course the caves

We stayed in a cabin tent that was very clean, though the mattresses weren't particularly comfortable. Unfortunately, just outside our porch area was a white tissue covered in a dark substance, along with a few other wrappers. We hoped it was chocolate, but guessed it probably wasn't—which was pretty off-putting.
On the positive side, the bathrooms were very clean and appeared brand new. The showers were free and clean enough, which we appreciated.
When we arrived around 4:30 PM, I checked in at the store since I couldn't access my email to find our site number. It was 100 degrees out, so I was really looking forward to the pool, but the staff member who checked me in didn't mention any pool hours (nor were they listed on the camping FAQ sheet we were given). We hung out at camp until 5:50 PM before heading to the pool to cool off. I had barely stepped waist-deep into the water when the front desk staff came in and rather rudely told us to get out because the pool was closed. I managed to dunk my hair, and that was it. Given the extreme heat, it would have been nice if they had mentioned the 5:30 PM closing time at check-in.
Other than those issues, it was a nice stay for the evening.

Our camping experience at Pinnacles was exceptional. The campground is meticulously maintained, and the restrooms and showers are consistently clean and well-kept. The swimming pool is a significant advantage, and the trails are truly outstanding, making them a highly recommended activity.

I loved our campsite. It had lots of shade and was tucked away from any noise. There was water and bathrooms also very close to our campsite. The toilets were clean. The pool and showers were also very nice and easy to access.

We really enjoyed this campground! Lots of deer and rabbits and vultures and birds. Was very grateful for the pool!! Really awesome. This whole park was amazing. The coolest trails and views.

General
- Generators are not allowed at any time in any site.
- Tent/RV Sites: 6 people, 3 tents and 2 vehicles or one vehicle and one trailer or RV/Motor home. Group sites: 20 people, 5 vehicles max. No RV’s, motorhomes or trailers allowed. Any self-contained vehicle designed for sleeping is considered an RV/Motor home. Extra vehicles MUST be left in the overnight parking lot. A tow vehicle plus a trailer counts as two vehicles. Social Trails: Avoid walking through other campsites, creek beds, and closed areas.Lighting: Party lights, disco lights, Christmas lights, travel trailer parking lights, any decorative lighting must be turned off starting at 10:00pm and ending at 6:00amParking: All vehicles and bicycles must stay on paved surfaces. Where parking pads are provided, vehicles must be parked with all wheels on the pad and may not extend into the traffic lane or into the campsite. All vehicles must be parked at thier respective campsites in front of the parking stops. Moving parking stops, driving beyond them or parking in another area/site will result in a ticket from NPS. If your vehicle does not fit in your site you MUST park it in the overflow parking area bhiend the store. Wastewater: carry to toilets for disposal. Washing dishes/clothing and brushing teeth at water spigots is prohibited.
- RV Sites: have 120v/ 30-amp service; EV CHARGING IS PROHITIED AT RV SITES, An EV charger is located by the store. Tent and group sites have no hook-ups. Generators are not allowed at any time in any site.
- Swimming pool: is open 4/1 to 10/31, weather permitting. No lifeguard on duty.
- Pets: allowed on leash in the campground but not on hiking trails. NEVER leave unattended.
- Wi-Fi: Guests receive 30 minutes of complimentary Wi-Fi. Extended access is available for purchase. Wi-Fi use is optional and not included in the nightly rate.
- Dump station: is available for registered guests.
- Trees: All trees, even when healthy and well-maintained, can pose a natural hazard of falling limbs. Visitors assume responsibility for any property damage, injury or other circumstances that may result from these hazards.
- Lost, Stolen or Damaged Property: Pinnacles Recreation Company is not responsible for loss or to property due to fire, theft, accident or any other cause.

- During peak visitation periods, access to the campground through the East Entrance station may be restricted. Delays can be expected due to high traffic volumes and parking reaching capacity. We advise planning accordingly to avoid prolonged wait times. Pinnacles experiences extremely high visitation on weekends, holidays, and during favorable weather, especially in the spring. Expect long lines and delays [or possible restrictions especially] between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.
- Restrooms (Loop C) Loop C does not have flush restroom buildings. Portable toilets are located in Loop C. Flush toilets and sinks are available in nearby Loop B and Loop G.
