Still my favorite place to camp! We were camped downwind of the bathroom, but that was the only negative. It was clean and well stocked, just quite potent.

Mid week was uncrowded. Second day from Coast Camp to Glen Camp was a long 16 mi day and Wildcat Camp would be a shorter day. Some fog but generally good weather.

I had a wonderful experience at Wildcat Campground, a magical place. Stunning views of the rugged cliffs, amazing sunset, and even a whale sighting in the morning. Highly recommended. Point Reyes is a national treasure.

I hiked up to Sky Camp along the Mt. Whittenberg trail, which was quite steep. (For context, a good hike for me is usually 6-8 mi and includes 500+ feet of elevation gain.) From my site, I had a clear view out to the ocean. There was some clouds and fog as the sun went down, which led to an absurdly beautiful two hours of gorgeous sunset. The fog rolled in as full dark fell, thickly enough that the trees were dripping. I woke the next morning to light to moderate rain, which made for an atmospheric hike out. I looped the long way, taking Sky Trail to Old Pine, and out along Bear Valley to the Bear Valley Visitor Center. Overall, very enjoyable! Glad I tried an October backpacking trip and will definitely be doing so again. Also, all this was accomplished using the 68 bus- no need to drive out!

Sky camp site 3. Good table and food box. Two sleeping spots, neither perfectly flat but we made it work

Beautiful campsite, at the nexus of multiple trails. Easy access to limestone cliff beach. NPS maintains the vault toilets and trash bins very well. Concrete picnic benches and bear/racoon cages are great. I'll come back!
