Point Reyes National Seashore Campground

Campsites were separated and it felt secluded even though there were other campers. The beach was a short walk away and it was nice to walk down there for the sunset.
Overall a good campground and would definitely return.

We camped here 1 night on the worst weather. Forecast said there'd be thunder stomp with 100% rain in both Sunday and Monday! We debated if we should go or not, but we had a free President's Day so what the heck, we did. It's raining hard with wind gust sometime up to 30 mph! My friend's tent was destroyed over the night! The campground is an open valley without any trees, so there's no wind coverage. The bathroom is vault toilet so it's stink but clean enough. Since there's no one at the campground except one girl at site #6, we camped at site #7 instead of group camp site #1. The trails are well maintained but muddy at some parts. The best thing about this campground is it's very close to Alamere falls, about a mile walk on the beach. Overall, it's a great experience and good backpacking trip for beginners.

One of the best sites I’ve ever been to! Only issue was that a critter got into the bear box and eat a hole in my brand new bowl! Luckily I saw that they are replacing the boxes soon. We lucked out with the weather as it was sunny and no wind, but be sure to pack an extra layer or have a blanket for hanging outside at night. Our weather situation was not the norm for the Point Reyes Coast!

#11 is directly cross the bathroom but with some distance and has some privacy. It can fit 2 two person tent. This campsite is near a river and is very moist. When we arrive our site at 5pm, everything was wet (no rain prior). Glen is very different than other three campgrounds - feel like a different world when you camp here. We only stayed one night and hiked from Glen to Coast the next day.

#3 can fit 2 two person tents. You can see ocean from the picnic table - the sunset was beautiful! The locker is new. The bathroom is on the other side of the campground, but I like sites 1-7 with more seclusion. Short walk to the beach. There are total 14 sites. 2,3,5,7 and 11 sites are released 14 days ahead; 9 is released on the same day; others sites are released 3 months ahead. I love this campground. It’s only 3-4 miles hike with minimal elevation from Laguna trailhead and 6.5 miles hike with 1100ft gain. Beautiful hike to the campground and there are lots to explore near by. The walk along the beach to sculpture beach when low tide is must, but check the tide schedule with the ranger before you explore.

#3 of sky has very good view and can fit 2 two person tent. On a clear day, you can see the coastline near the lighthouse. The sunset the breathtaking. We parked the car at Bear Valley and hiked via mountain Wittenberg trail - short but steep. Be aware of banana slugs, many of them at the campsite after sunset - make sure you close your tent zip tight to prevent the slugs inside your tent. The campsite has drinking water and clean pit toilet.

Having access to this kind of coastal beauty so close to a city with 750000 people is pretty unique.

Elk, bobcat, rock formations, waterfalls…just incredible.

I love Point Reyes.

Beautiful location and well kept camp sites. Even with wretched weather we had a fab time. Herds of elk. Also saw coyotes and deer. Backpacked the southern area and drove over to the lighthouse for a fab day trip which included viewing elephant seals.
