Point Reyes National Seashore offers four backcountry hike in campgrounds and thirteen boat in campsites along Tomales Bay. Note: For reservation purposes, our campgrounds are organized under the "loop" column of the reservation grid. We went during a rainstorm, which ended up being so so fun. We stayed in site 11 which has moderate cover from the wind which helped are tents stay up in the night . For what it was, it worked really well. Bathroom is just a toilet with a bottomless hole with a water spout 30 ft away. Nice cement tables and new (as of dec 2023) food lockers. I don’t know how useful this is but it didn’t flood and there were not trees to fall down on us during the crazy storm. We had two 2-person tents and they fit pretty nicely in the space (they were close though, I could hear all the rustling from the other tent). All and all good experiences. Would definitely check it out

Wonderful trails--well laid-out and maintained, highly scenic.
Campsites were nice with picnic table, water spigot, outhouse, bear boxes and trash receptacles.

FYI wildcat site #4 had 2 mice hidden in the bear locker in top where the metal curves. Do NOT leave items in this locker, use another locker or bring your own bear canister. Other than that, beautiful site and excellent trip. If going to Alamere falls, I recommend going along the beach but check the tide chart because that route can be inaccessible at high tide. It's a much shorter hike along the beach and the falls are more impressive from that view.

Hike to Glen Canyon Campground was delightful and well kept. We took Greenpicker Trail from the Five Brookes Trailhead and didn't see a single other person for most of the
hike. Glen Campground was practically glamping. There was trash service, toilets, and potable water! Site 02 is right next to the toilets however, which is good for some, bad for others.

Hiked to Glenn camp through Bear Valley trailhead. Once we got to the campground and set-up our things, we then hiked to the beach through wild cat trail. Next day we hiked back, then kayaked to Tomales beach for another night of camping. Remember to bring enough water and sunscreen!

PARKING PERMIT REQUIRED FOR OVER NIGHT PARKING AT ALL TRAILHEADS (a printout of your reservation confirmation face up on your dash serves as a valid parking permit.)! ONLY ONE CAMPGROUND RESERVATION PER NIGHT PER PARTY OR GROUP. ! DON’T BE A “NO SHOW”. Be kind and cancel reserved nights that you will not use.! NOISE: AUDIBLE MUSIC OF ANY TYPE IS NOT ALLOWED. NO INSTRUMENTS OR AMPLIFIED MUSIC. ! NO DISPERSED CAMPING ALLOWED. ! LEAVE NO TRACE: Pack out all your trash. Do not leave trash at the campsite. ! BACKCOUNTRY HIKE-IN SITE INFORMATION> All sites at Coast, Glen, Sky and Wildcat Camp are Hike-In backcountry sites that require hiking or biking in with camping gear for several miles. > THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO CAMPGROUND FIRES ALLOWED.  > Charcoal use is prohibited, use only gas stoves for cooking.  > Always keep all food or scented items in the provided food lockers.> Possession of a glass container on the water or in a vessel or within 50 feet of any riverbank, lakeshore, beach, on the water or in a vessel is prohibited.> All areas in the park are closed to visitor vehicle parking between the hours of midnight and 6 am with the exception of visitors holding backcountry camping permits may park at established trailheads. Leave a copy of your reservation on the dash of all vehicles associated with camping reservation to serve as a valid parking permit.
TOMALES BAY BOAT-IN INFORMATION> Boat-in sites are ONLY reachable by Boat. ALL Tomales Bay permits require use of a boat, including group sites on Marshall Beach and Tomales Beach. > Boat Launch and vehicle parking for all Boat-In campsites are located outside of the boundaries of the Point Reyes National Seashore.  ! A Wag Bag or portable toilet is required to carry out human waste for all Boat A and Boat B permit holders.   > There is NO potable water on Tomales Bay for Boat-In camping- you must bring your own. > Possession of a glass container on the water or in a vessel or within 50 feet of any riverbank, lakeshore, beach, on the water or in a vessel is prohibited.> Boat-in Amenities: NONE. Except for vault toilets on Marshall Beach and Tomales Beach.> Food Storage: Raccoon- and rodent-proof food storage, such as bear canisters or Kevlar food bags are required.     > Group Site Permit holders at Marshall Beach and Tomales Beach are required to camp only at Marshall or Tomales Beach.    > Marshall Beach allows for two group permits at any one time. Groups 1 and 2 must set up camp in a way that allows room for two parties to be able to share the beach.> Boat A and Boat B Permits are not assigned to specific campsite locations. These permits are authorized for dispersed minimum impact camping within 75 feet of the mean high tide level at any of these select beaches along the west shore of Tomales Bay: *North Blue Gum Beach*South Blue Gun Beach*Pita Beach*White Gulch Beach*Wall Beach*Pelican North Beach*Elk Fence North Beach*Elk Fence South Beach*Tomales Beach*No Name Beach*Marshall Beach*Long Cove Beach*Kilkenny BeachBOAT-IN WEATHER AND SAFETY: Expect calm winds in the mornings with increasing winds from the northwest in the afternoon. Crossing Tomales Bay during Small Craft Advisories issued by the National Weather Service can be hazardous. You are responsible for checking safe weather and tide conditions. You should be an experienced kayaker or be going with an experienced group. ALWAYS WEAR A LIFE JACKET.
