Codorniz Recreation Area Campground was a truly wonderful campground that my wife Cathy and I totally enjoyed. The sounds of coyotes, cattle, owl’s, eagles, hawks, woodpeckers just made this a wild place. To think that just 23-miles away is the busy, smoggy route 99 with the fast pace of city activity, this place is a gem in the wild. J and Terry camp hosts were always ready to answer and question and share knowledge of the area.

We camp here frequently and never had any problems. There was NO water the whole time we were there. Not a big deal we still made the best of it. However there was 1 female park ranger who was very rude and went out of her way to be rude. We paid for water/electric we were not refunded anything for not having water. Nor did we expect a refund, but we did not appreciate her bad attitude.

The campground was clean and quiet. Host quickly got me checked in and directed me to my campsite.
It was my first time there and I was camping in a tent. I lucked out when I chose site #14 in the Cordoniz campground. The site has a large flat level area for the biggest tent or several small tents. No power only water. A clean bathroom nearby. No real lake view from the campground (except for maybe sites 9-12 not real sure though) and it would be a good hike to the waters edge from any of the campsites.
I was there early in the year so i'm not sure how hot and rowdy this place gets in the Summer.
