The camp was clean, long walk to water unfortunately was very steep and rocky.

We accidentally reserved a group campsite for one night. I have to say the experience was magical! I highly recommend this for anyone, but given the price, particularly for people traveling in a group!

Great set up for a group camping event. Highlights included sink with tap water and counter top for easy clean up of meals, potable water for cooking and drinking, many picnic tables, fire ring, central hang out area, lots of flat-ish areas to camp, central paved loop for easy car drop offs and kids riding bikes, well cleaned vault toilets, big group BBQ/firepit for grilling, lots of shade, easy access to the lake, able to dock boats to shore, easy hike nearby, plenty of parking away from campsites to reduce the presence of cars, removed from others yet close to things. We brought a group of 60 adults and kids, and it felt like plenty of space. Plenty of poison oak but it was not in the main camping areas. Mosquitos and bugs at twilight but not too bothersome, especially with bug spray. Bear boxes for food were pretty big. Service person came by to pick up trash daily which was so awesome. Some old concrete and rebar pillars which have fallen apart, good to flag with something bright so people don't trip or scrape themselves on them.

Exit I-5 at Gilman Road/Salt Creek Road. Southbound traffic: exit and turn left onto Salt Creek Road, second left is Gilman Road. Northbound traffic: turn right onto Gilman Road. Follow Gilman Road for 10 miles east to Dekkas Rock Group.
Dekkas Rock is accessible via I-5, with the Gilman Road/Salt Creek Road exit providing direct access. Follow Gilman Road for approximately 10 miles east to reach the campground.
Elevation: 339 feet
32 mi drive to downtown Redding (about 44 min)

- Group camp reservations must contact the Shasta Recreation Company office at least 1 week prior to arrival for combination code to access your campground; Failure to follow these instructions can result in being locked out of the facility
- Average maximum trailer size is 16 feet
- Poison oak is abundant throughout the forest
- Due to bears in the area, all food must be kept in approved containers
