Camp host was great and explained all about the campsite early and checked in on us throughout our stay. Campsite was huge and had plenty of room for our group. Was a short drive to Red Rock Pools and felt safe leaving our gear at the campsite while we were out for the day. The spot was very dog friendly and did not encounter any large or dangerous wildlife. The only annoyance was the flies/bees by the food area, but that was expected while camping. I would definitely come back and reserve this exact spot again.

We really enjoy this site. There is great hiking right from the campsite as well as a river that you can play in most of the year.

The facility team was great; good service, friendly and accommodating. Two of them paid special attention to where the wedding ceremony was to happen and mowed the entire area. Thank them for us?
The restrooms need work. Some of the toilet seats are loose and there should be some type of lighting; Solar powered perhaps.

A group of 10 of us all brought our horses to Sage Hill. There is plenty of parking for large LQ's and plenty of pens with shade. Some of the gates on the pens did not work but we managed. Also, if you are planning on bringing your equine friends, bring a hose bib as the water spigots do not have threads for your normal hose. We thankfully had a cut off garden hose that stuck on quite well. You will also need to bring your own pitchforks and muck buckets to clean the stalls. The Aliso trail was closed, however, we managed to cross the river and go on a 2-hour ride towards the east. We could not find a way across the river to the west to go on the Snyder trail (across Paradise Rd) without crossing the slippery water bridge. All in all, I give it a 9 out of 10 as we are hardy folk and always love a challenge.

From highway 101, take highway 154 approximately 15 miles to paradise
road. Turn right and continue 5 miles to Los Prietos road. Turn left
past the ranger station to the camp entrance.
