The freeway traffic almost makes it impossible to sleep at night and the sites are super close to one another. Other than that, the river is close by, the bathrooms are clean, and camp host is very friendly. I would only come back here if we had a camper to drown out the loud freeway noise at night.

I spent one night at this campground with my dog. The campsites are VERY CLOSE together, so don’t expect any privacy. Thankfully, the neighbors on either side of our site were very nice. The campground is also right off of Hwy 89, so expect road noise throughout the day and night. Our site was nice and clean, and the nearby dumpsters were kept locked to prevent bears from breaking in. Overall a very pretty location with a short walk to the river.

No drinkable water. You must bring your own. Campsites are very close together and NOT near any creek or river. Nice camphost.

Nice little spot, close to home for us. Some spaces are very close to the neighboring space. It's ok if you are traveling with your neighbors, but a bit uncomfortable if they are strangers. Now we know which spaces to choose when we travel alone and with pairs to reserve when we travel with other. Fishing on the Truckee River and The Donner Party Interpretive Trail are nearby.

This was a really nice campsite especially for the price. Yes it is close to the highway but I didn't really notice the noise. Its close to the river, each revered spot has its own fire pit, and its pretty spaced out between neighbors. Now, somethings that I did notice is that their isn't much shade on certain spots so bring canopies or if you have your Rv's with awnings then you should be fine. The second thing is that there is tons of dirt. I had a mat in our trailer but it still stuck to my shoes. I recommend a patio mat or something extra to clean your feet with. Other then that it was perfect.

In the midst of all of the pandemic craziness, this place offered a great time and place to get away from it all. The spot was spacious and open. We were immediately next to the river which provided some excellent nature sound and water fun for the kids and doggies. Our camp host was the nicest guy and made us feel so welcome.

The campgrounds are beautiful and the river was so much fun to play in with the kids and dogs. Campsite #12 itself is a bit awkward and crossed between the others with limited space. Not recommended if you are looking for privacy with distance from neighboring campers.

Someone had double booked our site. The host and park guy were very sorry and found us another site without a problem.

If I could give this campground 0 stars I would .
This was the dirtiest , boring and loud campground I have EVER been too.
If you’re on the road and have a camper it might be okay but if you’re tent camping , I wouldn’t bother.
We were supposed to stay 2 nights but after 1 we packed up and left .
The road noise was SO LOUD ! We barely slept . The campsites are located directly on the side of the highway . If someone were to go off the road , their car would be In your tent .
Big rigs and cars would honk early in the morning . You could hear the whoosh of every car that went by .
Not to mention the grounds were unshaded , the grounds were so dusty and so much trash left behind !
Also be aware you need to bring wood . And the closest place is truckee to buy it .
If you’re traveling and need a place to park , it might be perfect , but if you’re planning a family camping trip , don’t bother . There are PLENTY of better campsites in the area.
