Lake McSwain Campground and Recreation Area

​Endless Recreation: Whether you are looking to relax or find an adventure, there is an activity for you. The area boasts excellent boating and freshwater fishing, and it even features Splash-n-Dash, a unique, on-lake inflatable amusement park that is perfect for families

A quick mention, if you're planning on going to the nearby BMX track. don't bring your bikes or ride around here. goat thorns are everywhere and got my bikes.

​Simple, Scenic Drives: Because this recreation area spans two large lakes along the watershed, you need to be prepared to drive to get around. However, the drive itself is simple, peaceful, and visually stunning.
​Facilities & Staff
​The Facilities: The layout is highly spread out, which is arguably the worst part of the setup. While the campgrounds and camp showers are older and the sites can feel a bit close together, all the amenities are fully functional and working.
​The Staff: The park staff strikes the perfect balance—they are always available if you need them, but never obtrusive, letting you enjoy your space in peace.
​If you don't mind a bit of driving between spots, Lake McClure is a wonderful, fully equipped destination for a classic outdoor weekend

My first time ever going to this lake. The lady you stop at to pay to get it was so nice and professional, I didn't catch her anybody. She had tattoos and she was awesome and helpful. The lake was so nice and peaceful clear Waters. I will be back again.

My only complaint is that the water for swimming is 6 miles away from camp. The views of the lake are amazing, friendly rangers, there's showers but the water isn't consistent with hot or warm but heck your camping! At least you can you the restroom and shower after a day in the lake.

Not bad camp area, but bring your own BBQ, only two sites had BBQ all had fire pits but couldn't have a campfire while we were there, restricted... Fishing left alot to be desired. Caught one lonely carp....
Other campers were friendly. Store near boat launch is closed most of the time, only open on weekends.....
