We stayed at site 176 towards the end of August on our cross country roadtrip. FLL is stunning and Tahoe was one of our favorite spots we visited across the country on this trip. The site was huge and well spread out. Not so private that you can’t see your neighbors, but private enough that you can’t hear your neighbor’s conversation, which is better than I can say for most overcrowded campgrounds we stayed at. It was a bit of a runaround to find shower tokens and a bathroom with available showers, but at least they have showers! We ended up having to spend one of our nights in our car instead of our tent after a mom and baby bear climbed on our picnic table like a jungle gym while we were cooking dinner over the fire (no bear attractants near the table, everything that wasn’t on the fire was in the bear box) but were easily scared off by some noise. Unfortunately about twenty minutes later the baby bear came back BY ITSELF and ran all over our site screaming, not scared off at all by our noise. Our very kind neighbors came over from their site to help us chase it away and alert other campers nearby. So goes it with bears at Tahoe, I hear.

There was way too much noise at night for tent camping. But, the campground is beautiful.

Campsite was clean, quiet, close to Taylor creek and a very short walk to Fallen Leaf lake. Really enjoyed the chipmunks chasing each other, they were very entertaining. Star gazing was magnificent! I will definitely stay again!

The campground is in a good location. Short walk to lake. Access to bike paths.
Frustrated with lack of access to moving campsites. Many empty spots, but unable to use the website to move rangers lack of access as well.

My campsite neighbors are responsible for this poor review and my camping experience. On the first and only night, they stayed up past 1am talking loudly, making noise. At 3 am, I noticed a flickering reflection on my tent. I went outside and noticed the negligent neighbors didn't properly extinguish their campfire.
