Overall campground is great; well-maintained bathrooms and showers. It's huge - be prepared for lots of people, dogs on leashes and all the sounds and smells accordingly. Was constantly smokey due to someone always burning fires. Not many sites are near the lake so will end up walking about 20 minutes each way depending on your location. Didn't see any bears but heard others who did while we were there.

I loved our first experience here at this campsite! I loved how close the bathrooms were and how clean and somehow fresh they smelled compared to campsites I’ve been to in the past. Also, during our 3-night stay, they were NEVER without toilet paper; Just be sure to bring your own hand soap as they don’t provide it- likely because of the scent. We had some furry friend encounters so it’s important for other campers to heed the warnings and follow the rules regarding food and scented products.
The campsite was close to a lot of beautiful beaches and we loved the fallen leaf lake that was just a short walk away. The Camp Richardson general store was a short distance away, along with bike rentals, so it was very convenient and we wanted for nothing.
I’ve heard from a few people that Fallen Leaf is their favorite campsite in South Tahoe, and I agree!! 10/10 would recommend 🙂 Your only regret would be not staying longer.

Beautiful place. The bathrooms were clean and the campsite had everything expected. Showers were at a close distance and bathrooms with toilets were at 10 meters. Plot 168 has a lot of leveled space for tents, not like all of them. The store was closed but the check-in kiosk was able to sell us wood.

Campsite was good. The only thing negative was the hornet/wasp that stung/bit me that came out of the ground. It was also raining, which cut our visit short. However, the store staff was very helpful.

Fallen Leaf Campground and Fallen Leaf Lake (walking distance) was fantastic. Campground, restrooms (with flush toilets and showers) and lake were clean and beautiful. Saw plenty of bears (exciting) on my 9 day stay. Booked 7 days but was able to extend/book another 2 days. Wish we could of stayed longer. Would definitely come back and recommend. Loved this place.

Great campsite with wide sites and a clean facilities. Bears are active so take extra precautions with your food. They're looking for easy meals.
